I tried the Wuthering Waves 2nd CBT recently, and put this video together to share an objective approach to the current game structure alongside my thoughts on it. Hopefully this info will be useful for those who wanted to learn more about the game!

Nice one Math Munchkin. I've been following this game for a bit. I'm looking for something a bit more serious game/MMO wise after playing TOF. Given the stuff you showed even though its early review level, I think I will be passing on this and waiting for something else. I'm having a ton of fun with Granblue right now so I'm good until something better comes along.

I love PGR, so I'll play anything kuro makes. My favorite part of PGR is how little it requires per day - if you don't have time to play, the dailies are over within 10 minutes. And on days where you have more time, you can focus on harder/endless modes. Here's hoping they reduce the grindier parts of WW before launch!

WuWa wont be replacing tof really since the co-op systems are completely different but i get everyone wants to drop tof, hopefully a new good MMO-lite pops up soon

I didn't notice a world chat system, but it does have co-op, so in that case it'd be more similar to how Genshin is set up ~

This game honestly looks like, "What if Genshin upgraded its core mechanics." Everything just feels like a carbon copy of Genshin and upgraded. If they added all these characters with the same movesets into Genshin impact, I wouldn't even complain about it feeling different because it is that similar. It just feels incredibly similar and too close for the game to be different and interesting enough. Overall I feel quite disappointed about the game despite my hype from what I've seen in the trailers because I genuinely thought it'd be an upgrade from ToF or Genshin Impact but it's just not different or unique enough because you can play these other two games and you will have a much better time. As for early game stuff, Genshin was too easy with its early game stuff and ToF was too hard on its early game (world bosses/Apophis) but later on difficulty becomes non-existent unless you're doing ridiculous endgame levels of stuff so I don't doubt that it's gonna be the same thing here.

give it just 3 months and you'll be surprised how creative Kuro is when it comes to combat, but if you talking about difficulty i actually kinda worried knowing how unhinged they can be when making stupidly powerful enemies in the future alas if people like to hit stuff and see big numbers i guess games like Genshin and ToF are for them sure, but Combat wise Genshin could never, ToF have the potential but got wasted in the middle

@@emerlance I don't really like this give it 3 months thing for gacha gaming because everything does get better after 3 months. The only thing is, is the company gonna retain the players to keep them around until they get to the "good part" This happened with ToF with how really bad of a first world Aesperia is but comparing Aesperia world and characters to Vera/Mirroria, Innars and Domain 9, it's a completely different in terms of quality because it just shoots up to ridiculously amazing gameplay. Saying it "gets good" after a certain amount of time or gameplay isn't enough to keep players invested. I think Tower of Fantasy is an amazing game still and people who play it the first time will be turned off massively by Aesperia world and its characters because of how basic they are compared to the later ones.

one thing it does way different and what takes it apart from genshin is the combat system, genshin has the slowest most basic combat system, but this games combat is complex and fast paced

@@Yrythaela no no i'm not saying 3 months until it get goods, i'm saying it only need that much time to proof themselves to be much much different from others like Genshin and ToF. if talking about how good it is right now you can't really judge something that isn't coming out yet, since if we talk about similiarity then Genshin and BoTW also having the same problem here

Except that it plays nothing like either Genshin and ToF. Kuro games are literally the best when it comes to combat. If you like fun and engaging gameplay combined with challenging content, then WuWa be the game. As far as the similarities to Genshin, people said the same exact things with all the BoTW comparisons. Over time prople will see that like genshin, wuwa will easily be capable of standing on its own two feet.

I'm interested in this game, but by god, the UI is pretty much an exact copy from Genshin. Not that that is a bad thing I suppose, but it's still very blatant.

Unfortunate that the start is so slow. Its also getting the "genshin killer" treatment that tof went/is going thru and we know how that went. I will say this looks more similar on that front, but i hope they move away from that and focus on their strengths. PGR's story and combat was also slow at the beginning, they need to start copying that from the middle.

I really don't like the Echo system in this game, it feels even more grindy than the researches back in tof, I hope they fix it cuz I can't see myself playing this game for long if that's the gear system they're giving us. It's a grindfest hell

For me, I thought grinding artifacts in Genshin was tedious - and now it's essentially that, but you have to grind things in the overworld to get the base thing to enhance LOL Like I could see it being fun initially, but eventually, it'll feel super tedious...

As somebody who has been doing and loving holograms. I had this exact same thought. I was like man this is the best game ever. So challenging. Then I was like oooh I'm fighting this 10 levels under only using 1 character with no dupes bad gear and a blue weapon. Also the uhh "abyss" in this game has some bosses with actual challenge as well, but yea I am really worried about what the game will look like on launch, but hopefully it will be similar to PGR.

The game really have its flaws and everybody knows it. What makes me optimist about it is the team behind this game. What pgr was in the past and what it is today is the proof that Kuro can improve their products. Anybody interested in the game but dont want to try it anyway, may wait for another year to try it and see if they improved it or decide to go by the genshin way "if it is sucessful, dont touch the formula"

I'm not saying it's this video here, but I just returned from Gateoo stream... He watched this video and together with his chat, the toxicity is so much I couldn't even listen any longer.

@@Noobster474 gateoo is a shitty content creator at the beginning when ToF came out he hated genshin impact in ToF he spent thousands of dollars on the characters and realized very late that the game is dead so he gradually moved on to genshin impact the same game as him He said he never played in his first ToF broadcasts and now, since he saw Wuthering Waves as a dangerous game for his community, he is hating it so as not to lose what little relevance it has left since he said that the game was horrible that tof XD Gateoo is completely frustrated that a game in beta surpasses the games he appreciates now
