Wait a minute you were just commenting on another video and I looked at your channel because somebody said it had a million subs and you do And now this video was recommended and you’re here again.. I’m learning the algorithm!
Amazing footage that I wish I could have seen. It's a wonder that the kids (if they'd been like me a few decades ago ;-) didn't rush over to 'touch it' Wow, it's a vivid illustration of the power of the wind!
I have seen this in a play ground of our locality few years back. These whirlpools (dust devil) are little rare but can happen in any region with open dusty fields, usually around summer and lasts about 1-2 minutes
Had one of these hit me directly when I was in 2nd grade. It was a cool memory because I looked straight up while inside and could see the whole vortex swirling around me. It swirled over me for 10 or so seconds before moving across the sandy playground.
Had one of those tear through our scout camp when I was a kid. It was a large gathering of hundreds of scouts from the region. Nobody was hurt just tents and other equipment thrown around. Kinda cool to see as a kid.
Back on the fame we used to run inside of them, just keep our eyes closed, get dusted but cooled off. This one seems odd to me as the sun is low so the ground shouldn't be that warm. You can hear the wind blowing but it moves so slowly.
@@bluewizzrobe8661 i think you and people like you live incredibly boring lives to think someone would put that kind of effort into a vid of a dust devil.. it's just a dust devil being a typical dust devil.
Where I grew up these things were hundreds of feet high. Imagine the base of this one but all the way up like a mini tornado on a clear day. Any time you went outside you saw at least like five swirling around the area and those were the small ones. The large dust devils were the size of town blocks and would block out the sun and you couldn’t see into them because they were so black with dust and soil. I saw one once on a clear day that had to have registered as a tornado. It swallowed up the hill my neighbors lived on and flipped their truck onto their gas tank, ripped off shingles and smashed their windows. I was playing in my backyard when it happened. All their stuff was flying around in a huge circle around the black vortex with all the smashing, scraping, and howling sounds. It was insane
One time I was playing in a baseball field with my friends. When I noticed it got rally windy. A small dust devil formed on the field. It put dust in our eyes. Thats my first encounter with a dust devil. This is my second encounter with a dust devil. One time I was riding bikes with my brother. It got really windy and a tall dust devil formed and blew dust everywhere.
Ground is heated differently so the hotter places have rising air. On a windy day like this, wind will hit the rising air and rotate it. As the air rises and stretches thin, the rotation gets super tight and super fast. This makes a dust devil! Edit: The people who believe it’s spirits and stuff, you made me laugh 💀
@@vasamoradora2607 Depends on the size of it I'd say. I'm no expert, but I'd also recommend wearing a helmet and something to protect your face (eyes, etc)
