RIP Astrud Gilberto! I grew up being in love with this beautiful song! I'm currently obsessed with vintage Bossa Nova right now. I was shocked when I heard the news about her passing today. I loved the pure innocence in her voice!
Tall and tan and young and lovely The girl from Ipanema goes walking And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah When she walks, she's like a samba That swings so cool and sways so gently That when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah Ooh But he watches so sadly, How can he tell her he loves her, Yes he would give his heart gladly, but instead when she walks to the sea, She looks straight ahead, not at him Tall, and tan, and young, and lovely The girl from Ipanema goes walking And when she passes, He smile - but she doesn't see
