Ai's wound is looking healthy, the colour is a good sign but it is quite deep..I have no doubt the keeper's are keeping an eye on it. Kiyomasa is in heat, his hormones must be going crazy. Still no interactions with Shabani & Kiyomasa, Kiyomasa seems to be sulking. 🦍 Thank you for sharing.🌷
It almost looks like the cut was not into any muscle it seems like it was on some thin-skin area, that's why it looks pretty wide... Certainly not bleeding... She doesn't seem to be in any pain with that she's using it... Too bad they couldn't put some surgical glue on it just to keep it closed so it doesn't get infected... Even if it is on a flabby part of skin, it's still an open wound. Funny I don't think of anything on a gorilla as flabby lol.
@@teritmoney7323 they were all involved in a scuffle about 2 weeks ago, I don't know how her bicep skin got ripped. Possibly a bite. Couldn't be Nene, she has no teeth...
With the way that kyomasa is acting, I wonder if annie is in heat. Either way all the zoo's in Japan need to start figuring out what they are going to do with all the gorillas that are now coming of age. You have annie and kyomasa, gentaro, and komomo and momoka. And im sure there are more. Haoko already has mated with his own daughter momoka.
I couldn't agree more. Moves need to be made asap. There are females and males that could be matched to the benefit of westerns. I'm sure it all comes down to ...MONEY...sad but true.
Agreed... I don't think they care.. it's a harsh statement but, there's nowhere for them to go without running into a relative. That's not the way to preserve a species.
@@Songbird1977jk l wonder if it is a problem of where to put them. I know a lot of zoo's don't have any extra space. However ueno zoo should have the 2nd exhibit where peiko was.
@@TheFlashyWeasel They don't care, it's not harsh it's true..Chiba has two large exhibits & unfortunately they have a single male & single female. They could put Monta with Komomo but Rola can't live with other gorilla's.Its a mess.
@Sonja Van Dam yeah I heard about that and have seen it at Chiba... Since Annie is more at risk from getting pregnant from Kiyo, it's too bad they can't move him there and rotate with Monta... I don't know if there's a chance that Kiyo can exist with him, in an odd type of bachelor group (age difference)... If not like I suggested just rotate them... Because right now and she is in danger of becoming pregnant by her own "brother". The other option is just to put her on birth control. That would probably be best for now.
I’ve seen Shabani try to keep a watchful eye and separate Annie and Kiyo when the two siblings become physical. Poor Shabani doesn’t always catch those two though.
@@bridgetmonica31 Not normally, they leave father when son becomes an adult.. But they don't care to much at zoo it seems.. This was always gonna happen.. More sad can happen if Shabani get real mad..
@@kimgraham9671 in the past they were just assuming the position, so to speak. They were never actually mating. However, they are at the age now where they could easily end up mating. And I don't think anyone wants that.
@@kimgraham9671 That was probably mimicking play. Now his balls have dropped and he is ready to get a family going of his own. Before he gets his sister impregnated. Shabani is aware and concerned. Yikes!
Kiyomasa has been doing these kinds of things for a year or more. It definitely bothers Shabani, because I've seen him actively try and separate Kiyomasa from Annie.

Everyones comments are pretty much the truth as we (viewers) know it. The zoos are all aware. The dad and daughter, sister and brother is so preventable. Some zoos are all about money but dont they realize they are going to make more money by the visitors and social media views ? Im sure there is alot to moving these awesome gorillas. You got to be really brave 😆😆😆😀😀 Im shocked no petitions havent been floating around...
Thank you for your comment 😊 Higashiyama Zoo is run by Nago City and is mostly funded by donations. Admission is free for junior high school students and younger. The annual passport fee is only 2000 yen. Please understand. Also, due to breeding problems, Kiyomasa will eventually move to another zoo.

shabani usually catches this but he can’t be everywhere. Kiyo unfortunately needs to be moved he’s tried to mount Ai and Mom as well! The same thing is happening with Haoko and daughters and I heard they are trying their best to figure out what to do with them as well. I guess since most of them are related that’s the problem with seeing who is going where and opening up a place or sending them away safely!

Won't they get genetic deformity if they breed with close relatives..Maybe zoo should give nthem contraception until they can bring non relatives in, and separate the relatives...I read inbreeding can cause psychotic behavior too.
It's sad with all these gorillas coming of age to go on there own and can't because of human captivity...also I hear that they could be related in some way...well there's the makes in the US frank and Monroe are of age...but I don't think the zoo is concerned enough to do anything they'd rather see relatives mate than try to do something about it...
Great video. We know gorilla males do not need females in estrus to be aroused. They’ve been observed pursuing sex with pregnant females, females who no longer go into estrus, other males and even children. The flip side is how often females in estrus are signaling she’s “ready” are ignored by their silverback. Silverbacks are not slaves to the female cycle at all. Kiyomasa, is sexually mature, he would probably have already left in the wild or at least spending most of his time away “hunting” females at his borders. Japanese zoos KNOWS this happens to every male and female at a certain age. When will they have a system in place to safely migrate their teenagers to more appropriate groups? Keeping them unnaturally long might be great for tourism, but is terrible for the animals and their families. With primates the most serious injuries, sometimes deaths occur around mating season or encounters.

Гориллы избегают инбридинга. Они высокоразвитые существа. Пока это только сексуальная игра. Зоологи всё про них знают. Скорее всего, брата отправят в холостяцкую группу, пока не найдут ему женщину, а может отселят вместе с матерью, чтобы она не сошла с ума от разлуки. Может случиться так, что останется холостяком, потому что девушек не хватает - дефицит, поэтому много красавцев мужчин до старости доживают без семьи, что очень прискорбно. Kiyo пока не является сильвербеком, его ещё несколько лет не допустят ни до одной девушки.
Right...its AI , I guess I assumed Shabani as well because of the way the wounds look. Not 100% of course but in my opinion wide set eye teeth of Shabanis size could be the culprit. We never know unless the zoo tells us.
Yup … pitiful He would have left them in the wild!!! At least my Orca are separated in the tanks when they are fertile!!! I’m so addicted to my orca channels & now I have a new obsession these poor gorillas!!! At least the gorillas feed themselves!!! They are too old to learn to defend themselves against predators but they can go to a sanctuary if they have such close relatives in the cages all over Japan!!! This is terrible Shabani might kill an infant that isn’t his… We will find out soon enough b/c Japan nor China care about the captive animals in their care. I’m not pro or against captivity… so no threats please!!! I love watching the orca at sea world & these gorillas. Neither nor can be released in the morning & survive out in the wild…. They retired Lolita & she died soon after … Keiko hunted for humans for 5 years until he died I kinda like what I just viewed with the orangutans in Indonesia are taking in orphans & teaching them to survive & releasing out to the wild … now 2 have gotten pregnant on contraception but that’s better than all of them pregnant & trying to move around siblings & offspring to prevent familial mating…
