I live about 45 minutes outside of Portland, so I love seeing it from a foreigner's perspective. Those wooden framed glasses you tried on are made by a company called Shwood, and my step brother used to work for them. Also, my sister used to work at that theater by Powell's called The Living Room Theater.

You really made me miss Portland. Wonder if you want to or ever have visited Portland's neighbouring vegan-friendly city, Seattle? Because the *best* vegan restaurant I've ever visited is there and is a Thai restaurant called Araya's Vegetarian Place. Amazing Thai Vegan food and they have glowing reviews, too!

I know it is too late for Ryoya-San, but for people wanting to visit Portland for its unique coffee culture, Stumptown, Coava, Sterling, Courier, Heart* and Ristretto Roasters are all must-try's.

Was it hard to find vegan restaurants in every place you went to? Or there's already a lot? Because here in the Philippines is kind of hard especially if you live in the countryside/provinces. However there are some in Manila, mostly were vegetarian. I wish i could get there too!
