I don't know much about Yesung but I know it's hard to cover a One Ok Rock song, especially with Taka's vocals but I was impressed with Yesung. He did amazing.
He debuted back in 2005 with the Kpop group called Super Junior. They went viral in 2009 with their sorry sorry song (Kpop fans would know this). Yesung is among the three main vocalists in the group. They have a sub unit dedicated specifically to these vocalists called Super Junior- K.R.Y, these are the initials of each vocalist's names, Y obviously standing for Yesung. I say SuJu (Super Junior's abbreviated name) is pretty popular in Japan considering their seniors- BoA & TVXQ rule Japan, having massive Japanese fandoms, anime fans too would know about them thanks to Masayume Chasing & Share the world. If you're a rock fan, I recommend you check out SuJu's early discography. Songs like Twins (their very debut song), Don't Don have very 80's hardrock type vibe to it. The K.R.Y subunit also produces ballads, R&B, some kdrama OSTs & even musicals, tho the vocalists individually too produce great music. I'd personally recommend you Yesung's "beautiful night" if you do decide to get into his discography (and the group's discography)
He sang it really beautifully!! I'm also impressed by his Japanese accent!! I have listened to this song countless times and his Japanese is also perfect! I know him, that's it, but I have never listened to him before. He really has great vocals!!
Yesung is the dynamic lead vocal (in my opinion) of Super Junior, but to take on Taka's vocal range is not an easy task, and he did it beautifully. I am a huge Super Junior fan, and equally love One Ok Rock - this was a special moment for me to witness.
Istg man some Kpop idols really have those "rock" genre vibe to them. A few of them being Seo Taiji, Jaejoong & Yesung. Heck Yesung's whole Instagram aesthetic is pure emo boi, rock style Imao 💀
He is Yesung, who is a kpop vocal of Super Junior,,and he does the cover Chaosmyth so good. You can search "Yesung " or "Super Junior" . By the way, he is 39 years old, but he looks so young. His voice is so good to ROCK, his voise is amazing.
so you're telling me one of my favorite k-pop vocals covered a song from my favorite rock band and I didn't know about it for 5 MONTHS!?!?! This is such a hard song to sing but I expect nothing less from Yesung
He also did cover OOR's song "whenever you are". Imo Yesung's voice really suit rock If you don't mind pls check his live performance " Yesung - the more I LOVE YOU SS4 "
I can’t dare expect how much he practice for this perfect perform. Pitch, breathing control, note, lyrics delivery, pronunciation… literally perfect. Great job Yesung.
yesung is a perfectionist and strict when it comes to vocals. for this new full album alone he needed 2 years to complete it, so that the result he wanted was achieved
Seeing comments saying OOR songs are hard to cover and I agree. I feel compelled to point out that Taka is a tenor and his voice is bright. In comparison, Yesung is a baritone by most accounts and his voice is naturally dark, deep and husky. Yet he is singing this song with relative ease. I've seen tenors with similarly bright tone like Taka's who cover this song and Wherever You Are and struggled, some even needing to go into head voice at the belting bits. But Yesung can match up to Taka's range even though he is a baritone with a dark husky voice (and fyi technically the notes Yesung are reaching is not something a baritone voice could do easily yet he does so in mostly chest-mix) so he's really amazing 🥰
@@GoodMorningDhia Like I said, by most accounts, it's said that he's a baritone. A number of reactions from people who have knowledge in singing seem to gravitate towards the opinion he's a baritone.
@@ys8488kh then probably you need to watch more reactions from the vocal professionals. It’s obvious that it’s easier and more comfortable for Yesung when he sings in tenor range
@@GoodMorningDhia Lol believe me, I've watched whatever reactions I can find on SJ and Yesung, amongst them are two Indonesian vocal coaches and two Indonesian singers. Even watched two Spanish reactors. They seem to think he's a baritone. So if you think he's a tenor, then that's your own personal opinion.
people can accused him by saying it was lip sync. But for someone who had watched him performed in the concert for 3 days all saying that his pronunciation was getting better in those 3 days. His breath voice can be heard when he finish each line of those lyrics. So to sum it up, he’s singing with his live vocal especially when his fans all know well how much yesung taking pride of performing live vocal.
It seems like a live performance with tons of after processing, to the point that it sounds so “fake”. I hate the kpop industry so much for doing that. After processing is fine but not that much.
Well, that accusation means he sings so well haha.. And they never heard him sing live before..that's why they can't believe such perfect performance..
This version is so unique in its own way! I'm not a kpop fan tbh, it's a little too overwhelming but if someone does a OOR cover I might actually go check them out 😆
I'm seeing a lot of people in the comments that are pleasantly surprised with how great of a cover Yesung performed. The song is definitely challenging and the original singer Taka is a really great vocalist himself. That being said I'm not at all surprised with how incredible this cover is. Yesung is a highly skilled and well known singer from Super Junior and he showed that here.
