Hi Brandy and Umi! I work at a tissue manufacturer and totally understand the confusion at the paper aisle sometimes - there's so much math to do! 😖I just wanted to share that the most accurate way to calculate bathroom tissue pricing is through Price per Single Roll. Nowadays, tissue comes in different Roll Thicknesses (i.e. double roll, triple roll, quadruple roll, etc.). As an example, Charmin 20=60 means each roll is equivalent to a Triple Roll (1=3); in other words, there are 20 triple rolls (or 60 single rolls) in a pack. So if the Charmin 20=60 costs $24.99, it means each single roll costs $0.4165. Whereas the Cashmere 12=48 at $21.99 costs $0.4581 per single roll. In this case, you definitely did the right thing choosing Charmin at a lower price per single roll! With that said, tissue goes on sale almost every week so if you want to save money, keep an eye out on apps like Flipp to shop them on promotion. If the price is around $0.250/roll or less, then you know it's a pretty good deal ;)

I am on the opposite side, like HK more and more and found van less and less attractive. Actually, people are more hostile/negative comparing to say 20 years ago here. BTW, visited melbourne very recently and found it to be a more preferrable city than van, sort of my feeling about vancouver when I first came here.

Welcome to Canada! Your breakdown is exactly why I like Canada. I think the main difference is ppl living in big city like HK are more stressful and lack the appreciation of simple things in life. I don't think this is isolated in HK. If you compare big cities and smaller towns in Canada, you will notice the difference between people's attitude 😅

Many of new immigrants don't know this culture, nevermind they don't hold door for people, but they some time walked ahead of you or let go the door on your face. I find it rude and ignorance. Glad you both learned all these etiquettes and Canadian culture so quickly. 😊
Very wonderful seeing the growth you both are enjoying even when faced with no small degree of challenges. Your health is also something to take extra care even at your current age … as you both seem to be encountering progressively more & more challenging sickness. Not to take health for granted especially in the current environment which is not free of active virus. Research studies have been consistently proving the real long term impacts which can significantly degrade one’s day-to-day operation. Please invest some moments to look into it … no need to take anyone’s words. Make your final decisions how to protect yourselves. Mask as applicable is not the worst thing when comparing to research results. Take good care for a bright future to enjoy by you both
Welcome to Toronto! Really enjoy your videos and happy that you guys are settling well here! Good choice to buy Charmaine! Charmaine is the best toilet paper you can get, and typically the most expensive! Given the same price, don't ever get Cottonelle 😂😂😂 Cottonelle is the worst amongst the brand names toilet paper. If Charmaine is not on sale, Royale is probably your next best choice 😊 For paper towels, Bounty is the best quality!! But again, the most expensive also 😅😅. So I would only get it when it's on sale. For daily items, I find Amazon is actually a lot more expensive than the stores unfortunately. Guess we do pay for convenience after all.
