Born and Raised in Taipei 大安區, and I think it's the top if you can afford the rent, after living in Taichung for a few years. With many universities around it's where many westerners come to learn Chinese and has multi-culture vibe around the universities. 天母 is also another nice area in Taipei that has American School and European School. I hve lived in rural places in Southwest of US for 10 years and is now considering retirement in the East Taiwan as I value the green space and fresh air much more, so it can just be different life stages of our life. You can actually have a reality check looking up the house market :)

以前在台北工作跟生活，但相較之下還是比較喜歡高雄的緩慢步調與人情味，雖然如此但現在我跑到台東來生活，更遠離人群。

I'm from Kaohsiung but ever lived in Taipei around 10yrs. If you're into beef noodles or spicy food, Taipei definitely is your good option, especially there is big foreigners community, it depends on what kind of lifestyle you're looking for, always advantages or disadvantages to live in either city. But Taiwan is pretty easy to travel, so follow your heart and enjoy the life in Taiwan, cheers.

Hi Wes, I think you have good taste for food and the talent for describing it: how you describe the complicated taste of peppercorns here is precise and thus impressive for me. 以前民生社區有家品味小館，是我跟家人最愛的小餐館，光小菜就有近二十道，超懷念的，可惜隨著眷村改建早已收攤了，人事全非，真讓人感嘆

I think you’re really rare foreigners to understand the unique flavor of the peppercorns（花椒). I prepared a small bottle of peppercorns for keeping awake during tests or lessons.花椒是四川味的精髓呀！ 我個人也非常喜歡，可以在中藥房買一些放冰箱備用，燉煮肉類,炒菜都可以加少許為食物增添美味。 我也會帶一小瓶乾花椒在包包裡，可以聞氣味或咀嚼幾粒，來醒腦提神！

Welcome to Taipei! Food wise, you are right on point to move to Taipei! But after a while, you will also miss the hospitality of people in southern Taiwan. It's just like all big cities...people are super busy and hence less time to put aids to others or less concerned. I meant ratio wise, there are still plenty of nice people in Taipei...Good luck on the move and hope you enjoy the diversities it offers.

推薦你一個很好的東西 『北北基好玩卡』可以去查查看，他有分各種天數能無限搭乘北北的交通工具(捷運，公車等等)，那張卡還能有各種免費票，其中好像就有包括台北101觀景台。

高雄勞工公園附近就有兩家四川料理喔，都是四川人開的 可以吃吃看

Taipei is definitely a great city,I also lived there for many years when I was young. If you have the chance,you should live there for couple years. And as you know there are many good cities and towns in Taiwan like 台中、台南、花蓮...，you should try some more until you find out your favorite.

下次來台北，要去文化大學附近，有很多咖啡店，美軍留下的房子，每一間都很漂亮

there are plenty 四川辣面館in kaoshong, you need to go to old左營眷村( army village) , Running by old chinese who come to taiwan around 1940th .

The Sichuan Restaurant is also one of my favourite restaurants :D

不用侷限台灣哪，台灣哪都好，南部北部或中部西部東部，各有各的特色也各有優缺點，喜歡冒險的你又怎麼能只限於探索南部，當然全台灣都希望你能體驗，最後才會知道自己適合或喜歡住在哪，說真的光是食物太甜這點對我來說也是無法適應南部的其中一點，不過到是滿想看你去東部的影片介紹😁😏😆
