INSTAGRAM @WESOFTHESUN During the rainy season, it's nice to know there are some amazing indoor traditional markets here in Kaohsiung! I particularly enjoy the San Fong Zhong Jie market.
For many of us, Italy is the most beautiful country in the world and no matter which region, it has its own particular good kitchen. This is the truth, but there is no country in this immense world would be so convenient as Taiwan in all senses. This lovely island, the people's fantasy in creation of styling in food really makes us feel amazing! Besides this, there is really nothing too expensive to afford. Bravissimo Taiwan!
Thanks for showing this market. It was just the kind I was looking for in Kaohsiung. The shop owners were very friendly. I bought the yummy rainbow shrimps. They were very fresh and good quality.
Hi Wes, I've been watching your videos for quite a while (also introduce your channel to my mum). It's nice to see a western person merging himself so deep into Taiwanese culture. Also, thank you for keeping introducing the beauty and fun of my hometown Kaohsiung to the audiences! I notice that you like some food that is defined as "warm and hot food" in traditional Chinese medicine, such as spicy hot chili, broad bean crisp, mango, litchi, deep-fried food, BBQ, Gaoliang Jiu....(I know these are yummy food, I personally like them too.) If people ate too much "warm and hot food", may cause the body nature turn "HOT". That means you might easily get grumpy, constipation, acne, and have bad sleep quality. Of course, this also depends on what's the body nature you originally have. After experiencing so much Taiwanese food and hot/ humid climate in Taiwan, I would suggest you try traditional Chinese medicine to see if your body nature was changed by the food and the lifestyle. And this interesting try can be made as another cool video. I would be expecting to watch it. Cheers! :D
I’ve been hearing a lot about this “hot food cold food” idea recently. I didn’t know that was a thing! I’d be interested to speak with a Chinese medicine doctor, but I might have to go with a Taiwanese person, I’m not sure my chinese ability would be good enough. Thanks for the tips, indeed it seems most foods I enjoy are “hot foods” as you say
@@WesDaviestravel Hey Wes, or you can try to contact this doctor 馬培德. Wesley, I love watching your videos and every song in your videos. I really like your Canadian accented English. The English pronunciation you speak is very standard and clear. I also learn English from it. The secret of shooting Taiwan is introduced to people all over the world.
Wow, you are so ‘localized’! Checking traditional market, tasting local foods. Dried shrimp and squid jerky, some foreigners could not manage their really fishy smell. But you are good! 👍
Wes, during the Chinese New Year, you cannot even walk through that dried goods market! If you have too many Lichees, you may also consider making Lichee vinegar, can them and store them in refrigerator. They taste wonderful on hot days, diluted with iced water or mixed with another juice!!!! ps, your scooter is "摩托車", same as motorcycle in Chinese, LOL!
Hi Wes, you are literally a Taiwanese now. Really nice film. Thanks for sharing the beauty of my hometown. Im also addicted to explore in traditional markets.
So much fun to travel with you to the markets!!!! The fruit looks so good at this time of year in Taiwan!! It was so generous of your viewers to give you gifts of mango and lychee fruit!!!!
Looks pretty good, i have been living in Kaohsiung 20 years ago but didn't go to this market, i think i will go there when i visit Kaohsiung in December this year, cheers
