Add oil! Don't give up! You will get there! You are starting a new life in a new country. Keep learning. Keep adjusting. It's not easy but very doable.
Exactly. Work life balance is only for the person/ family who settle down with a decent income/ savings, pay off half of their mortgage. Also their skills are in demand, they can find a job within six months, then they can set their life style: work life balance.
搵唔到人做設計?? not that hard, but most people (end user) won't pay a few hundred just for the floor plan, blue print. They like to use the free service from cabinet companies or Homedepot.
That is a wrong concept: "最junior嘅工." Quoted you an real example: A legal secretary in Hongkong applied a job as receptionist here, she could not get it, but she got hired in other law firm as legal secretary. Why? because as a receptionist , you need to meet new people, pick up the phones and able to write down the names and messages of the clients ( with all kinds of accents) You should focus on the job that need your knowledge and skills and match your personality.
@@qqmove I was just going to say, you shouldn't have brought up that English is not your mother tongue. At the interview stage you should focus on the positive. I think people from HK tend to lay it all out, and worry about showing off, but I do think we need to toot our own horn strategically at the right time. I am not saying we need to exaggerate our experience, but it is important to put some effort into the soft skill, getting to know the local cultural. Canadian love small talk, knowing the local cultural: not sure why North American love sports, get to know hockey, football, baseball....and the current stat, you will never go wrong with those. I think Canadian would prioritize your soft skill over your actual skill. I know as an employer I would. BTW: my 1st year nursing major daughter just landed a summer job as graphic designer for a charity organization, with no previous formal employment experience in graphic design, just a hobbyist. I suggest you to work on your interview and presentation skill
10 years of experience with AI. Made over 500 designs, and can provide a portfolio of 20 items with assorted styles.
