I've just bought one of these. I love the sound of it and it's great to play. Being electric I put it through my guitar effects pedals and got the most amazing sounds. I really can't wait until I'm able to perform in public again as I'm definitely going to use it on stage.
@@nothingnothing8368 I found some sheet music simply written in numbers that represent the keys. The name of the music was in Japanese though but it sounded nice. I learnt how it was tuned by Googling it and I watched videos of people playing it. I worked out the name of each note and I taped the note over the number on some of the keys and I was able to play Western songs I already knew.
Today I learned about these things and I've been gawking at them on eBay for the last 30 minutes. I was thinking about running them through pedals as well. Just recently got an EH Bitcrusher. Thinking it should sync well with octave and pitch shift since all the strings are tuned to the same note? Also wondering if it can sound good tuning it to a chord... maybe CMaj7 since it sounds jazzy to play Maj7s all over the place on guitar... I see that they also make a 2 string bass version. I'd hurt myself trying to slap it...
This is possibly the only instrument I felt attached to. I'm not much into performance arts, I'm more of a student/teacher of the visual arts, but this instrument got me into taking up music lessons to further expand my education profession. Many of my students are music smart, meaning their intelligence is focus on sound and auditory patterns. Learning to use an instrument and incorporating it into reading lessons will help my students visualize the emotions of the story through the sounds. Anyways thank you for posting this.
Whoa, it's the same guy who play bass in your videos. Glad to see he's fine (it's been a long time since the last vid). The instrument is great, just like the video editing.

it works as a hurdy gurdy to some extends as i see - the strings and a keyboard. its a pity that i never see it being used anywhere... : \
Just bought one of these even though it’s broken I’m hopeful that I can restore it to its former glory, tips on instrument maintenance would be much appreciated
I'm not a musician I just have some gear I've collected over the years for when I want to play with sounds I just purchased one of these, I went on a kick to see what strange instruments i could find for under $100 and i grabbed this immediately.
so did you learn it/stick with it?" Seems like its easier than a guitar I couldn't pick up the guitar I took lessons and i dint practice enough I hugeness but I played saxophone at eh same time. An electric sax is so much, so looking at some Japanese and Chinese instrumental, this isn't the one I was thinking of boot it awesome and want one, fear is not being able to learn it in a timely manor.
@@drmayne2071 sorry for the late reply, its sitting in the conor of my room gathering dust with the rest of my gear lol. i'm starting to dust it off and give it another go. it's pretty easy to pay i'd say the sound seems a little limited but i'm running it through a bunch of cheap pedals =) still not a bad buy
Good instrument. Good music. But why on earth did someone have to add those shitty clips to a perfectly fine video? It could have been the image of that original instrument and that’s it
