Another Japanese songs adapted into Cambodian music in late 1960s. We, new generation, probably have not known that music composers at that time preferred Japanese songs so much....
Beautiful song. I like the original, but the Ros Serey Sothea version (the Cambodian) version is really cool, the arrangement, the groove, the psychedelia....very cool. By the way, I see someone below comparing the sound quality; the Cambodian records have no master tapes, they were literally destroyed by the Khmer Rouge, as well as most original records. (and of course, most of the musicians including Ros Serey Sothea herself). What you're hearing in this video is almost definitely a copy of a copy of a copy of a cassette. Thanks for the comparison!

Cambodian sounds more of American mixed with Cambodian then Japanese western mixed..evendoe the original beat is Japanese.but song are different meaning..
@@kxlucifer that's not the reason at all, the true reason is the difference in culture, Cambodia in the 60s had a very relax carefree happy life style and it show in the art and music, whereas in Japan the Japanese culture was busy working hard and much more refined then that of Cambodia, it also show in Japanese art and music.
The Japanese didn't have the Khmer Rouge to destroy all their original master tapes along with any records they could find (as well as the musicians themselves, including this singer, Ros Serey Sothea...rest in peace, Sothea). What you're hearing is a copy of a copy of copy of a cassette, most likely. The original records - when you can find them - don't sound like they're recorded at the bottom of a bong.
