Seeing cherry blossoms must bring (for a Japanese person) what we would call bitter-sweet memories of people who died. At the same time it would remind you to enjoy life right now. I am reminded of my time in Japan when I see Apricot trees in bloom in Idaho. I have an elderly friend who's parents were Japanese. The apricot blossoms remind me of her and how little time she has left in this life, and to enjoy her company right now.
