I think it bight have been cut. You can easily see how it changes frame by frame but suddenly 2 different frames are very different

@@realdragon i don't think so, just look at the first gear, what you're seeing is just the increasing speed/reducing torque of each gear, resulting in the last gear being really fast and everything resetting when it finishes it's revolution.

In the slowed down version at the end, put it in 0.25x speed and you can see how it stops

So could you use it to make let's say a wheel spin really quickly without using much motor power?

​@@Still-A-Living-Guyno because the amount of work required to spin the wheel increases.

Mechanically it's similar to stretching a rubber band. Slow build up and then a sudden, brief movement. Notice that the final gear still only spins once per full rotation of the center.

​@@Still-A-Living-Guyif you've ever ridden a bike, then you can imagine it the same way as changing gears there. On your highest gear ratio little speed on your petals gets you much faster, but it gets harder to pedal. It still requires the same work/energy, but over less time. And they do use gears in cars for the same reasons. In this case the added friction from adding more spiral gears increases the amount of work.

Problem is the fps are quite limited

the last gear spun for about 1 second at .25 speed. so at normal speed that would be 0.25 seconds for a full rotation on the last gear.

@@namvutranngoc6945 Yeah, a ratio in the infinity that tends to Phi. But this spiral doesn't have the "step" you would find in a Fibonacci spiral. It's a different logarithmic spiral, while the Fibonacci spiral is just one specifically.
