While the Korean people suffered under the heel of the Japanese Colonialists, Eternal President, Kim Il-sung, valiantly led the people in a guerrilla war against the hostile invaders. Upon the expulsion of Japanese forces from the peninsula in 1945, spearheaded by a coalition of Korean, Soviet and Chinese forces, the framework for the foundation of nation for the proletariat was established. On the 9th of September 1948, president Kim Il Sung of the Worker's Party of Korea proclaimed the foundation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, marking a new era of prosperity and freedom for the Korean people.
