I have heard that Korean is the hardest language for a native English speaker to learn. Is the Korean the same in the North and the South of the peninsula? As a white American I have visited Iran and it was much better than what it is portrayed in the media. I wonder what the DPRK is really like vs. media portrayal.
+acrazyjew Yes, the language is generally the same, however there are some dialectal differences. I can't say whether the language is as difficult as you say it is, but I do plan to learn it someday regardless.

No, the Korean in the north has more Chinese influence (for example, look at the numbers used in the North and South). Also this is a bit more arbitrary but obviously the Korean language in the south has much more western influence. But I’m definitely not an expert
