Its not his group thats been holding Jimin back - they encouraged Jimin to work on his solo album. He wants to be set free from the haters who have tried to destroy him and caused him mental pain. Jimin is the best of the best, with god tier levels of talent. He's also sweet, intelligent, funny and loving. I can't even believe he's real. This song is a hell of a debut, and he's setting the world on fire. I can't wait for the album and the actual title track to drop on Friday. I'm also looking forward to his appearances on Jimmy Fallon's show on 3/23 and 3/24. He's going to the top on a rocket. No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this makes me that much more excited, waiting in anticipation for release of the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” on March 24, along with his other, main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! Set Me Free, along with the other songs on the album, was written during COVID and reflected his feelings at that time. It’s also about his own image. There is a give and take happening between the auto tuned affected voice and the softer voice of his. It is *NOT* about feeling trapped by BTS or wanting more freedom from the group. The guys have never restricted one another from doing solo work and several released solo mixtapes in previous years. But they were older members and Jimin is one of the younger members. Jimin has solo songs on the group’s albums as well as doing collabs with other artists and work for soundtracks. Based on what he has said, I think he lacked the confidence to release a solo album previously and wasn’t sure “what he wanted to say.” COVID clearly gave him some things to say, for whatever reasons (lockdown, cancelled tour, enforced down time, etc)

By the way, I highly recommend you react to the dance practice for this! I’m sure it will blow you away like it did for me! It’s like beyond amazing! On another level! Plus you can see the magnificent choreography, that much better, as well as all the dancers, especially watching their precise moves all in sync! But honestly as phenomenally spectacular they are, it’s hard to keep my eyes off Jimin, it’s really seriously, possibly one of the best dance practices I’ve seen! Here's info that some still aren't aware of: ❣JIMIN, born October 13, 1995, at age 11, started studying, performing, & competing (winning every competition), in hip hop, popping (excelled), & street dancing, while attending the renowned Just Dance Academy in Busan where he's from! He was so good that an instructor even had the high tuition fee waived at one point! This was while also attending middle school, where he loved sports, being quite athletic, joined the football team, excellent at track, great at basketball, & billiards! Jimin also, all throughout his schooling, was known as a top scholar, achieving perfect scores, especially in math & science which just always came easy to him! Jimin was even class president for 9 yrs in a row! Jimin, all throughout his schooling, was also quite good in art class, as well as calligraphy. Jimin, then also took up contemporary dance. The media, after seeing a performance of Jimin's performing at a huge Busan Festival Event, called Jimin "The rising star of Busan"!! JIMIN also studied ballet & traditional Korean dance while attending Busan High School of the Arts. Jimin still went to Just Dance Academy to take hip hop classes whenever he could because his first love has always been hip hop, even though he was now majoring in contemporary! That bounce, to me, is joy. He is know as the “Best Dancer” in the kpop Industry, “Global IT Boy,” and “King of Kpop.” He is the versatile dancer in the group. He trained in Contemporary but has learned and mastered a wide range of different genres since he was little. Like hip-hop/street, popping, modern, ballet, martial arts, acrobatics, and more. This man is talented af but also the most beautiful and incredible being in existence. He has such a huge heart, so kind-hearted, sweet, humble, supportive, caring, kind, outgoing, a goofball, and so funny. This is why we say “we all need a Jimin in our lives.” He is a special gem overall!!
boy, your reaction made me cry. you really get it uh? where to start.. your reaction to jimin pre release is so heartfelt and genuine, i wish jimin himself could see, he'd love it. this coming friday 24/03 his first solo album FACE is coming out. he's been planning it for years. he's been pouring his heart and soul into it. and he has a lot of both, and a lot of history to tell. he is credited as a writer on his own tracks as well as on some by bts, so he's not new to it (he also helped creating the melody for blood, sweat and tears although he's not credited for that). he is a musical a dance genius, on top of being the kindest soul in every room. i invite you to have a look into his story, how he has always been working the hardest (jungkook's words: "jimin is the one who set the highest standard" and "i haven't seen any member who worked as much"), and how he's suffered some of the harshest treatment an artist could get (he even received serious dts which were addressed in an interview on 24 may 2018). the tattoos on his body.. many are his (nevermind on the ribs, the moons on his back, the 13 you can see on his wrist and more), but the german text in the second half of the mv is a decal of a poem by rainer maria rilke, check it out. there's so much more to know about this song and choreography, i hope you'll get to discover more about jimin's story because it really enhances further the beauty of this already incredible song. thank you for loving it

Just to let everyone know jimin has said that what he wanted to be set free from was his depressing feelings he had during the pandemic.Not his group activities. he would not appreciate that interpretation at all. He had mentioned multiple times how he was not interested in solo activities whenever the rap line were doing their projects, the reason he’s releasing this EP is because the members talked him into it when he was talking to them about the way he was feeling. they told him how about putting his emotions into songs. And that’s how FACE came to be.

I adore this reaction so much. I feel like this was so damn unexpected of him but that's why he rules the Industry. He keeps us all on our toes. And this song was so raw, so...soulful...I felt like the words were being ripped from the deepest parts of him. And for someone as private as Jimin...for him to share something so profound abt himself with us? I'm honored. And honestly, one of the best things abt him is the fact that he can make everyone around him feel what he's feeling. Cool thing about Jimin, he could easily be a top tier solo act. His stage presence alone is insane. But what’s cool about him is that he also has the ability to let others shine. I truly believe that if he wanted to, he could be the sole focus of everyone’s attention all the time. He’s that special. However, he allows and wants his members to shine when it’s their turn.
Would you believe he was the one who was more apprehensive about doing solo work? He said he’s not a soloist, he’s a group member. But they all had to do solo work before doing their military service. Watch the other BTS works as well as the recent individual works. Also, all the members keep saying how they miss each other and how harder it is to do projects without each other. 💜
Jimin has been working on his Solo album since last year. He has written, composed most of his own music and performing during their own BTS Concerts. First of all I want to thank you for theis genuine reaction, I have seen many reaction videos about Jimin's Set me free pt.2 song and they all didn't pay attention to his skills but rather they compliment the dancers, light and music background and off corner shirtless Jimin!!!! I don't deny the fact that all these elements are important in music videos involves dancing but you gotta focus on the artist too and honestly Jimin's killed it I am not saying that because I am his stan but he really did and I was expecting this from Jimin because I know his dancing skill is amazing besides his vocal ranges and body language and gestures, face gestures and eyes glance. All over Jimin is a full art package for excitement to see. You more focused on him and his moves like his hands, head shaking, body roll ( no body can roll the body like him), vocals. He has a contemporary and ballet dancing background so you can see his dancing style is so soft and even in his aggressive dancing movements the moves very connected and he dancing gracefully and effortlessly . As a contemporary dancer, he has the skills to feel the music deeply and dive into the lyrics and interprets all this into a connected dance moves and his eyes glance says alot here too so when he went wild we can see this sharp glance and when he is in a deep pain we can see different glance so basically he gives a full art piece. 1:01 Set Me Free (part 1) is actually a solo track by aka Agust D, who's a member of BTS known as Suga. When Jimin was naming this track he was also wanting to set himself free of emotions of the past which I think is similar to the theme of Suga's track. It's different, they didn't collab on this, but Jimin just wanted to recognize that his team member had already named a track by the same name, so he gave it a part 2.
I really do urge you, whenever you get the chance, to react to these absolute must see best versions of, absolutely breathtakingly spectacular, but also safe to see on YT, solo performances of Jimin's. Many other versions like stage mixes, tend to ruin the flow, & over edit, so Jimin's amazing dancing & choreography aren't shown properly. You are right. Jimin completely immerses himself into the music and the movements he uses interprets what he feels which in turn draws the viewer into his world. He's a master. He's my bias😊

They all never needed to go through the factory, and with RM as genius leader, they couldn't be contained in a kpop label. No shade to those who did well. I'm 75 and been watching BTS 2 months. They are in a different category. Like Jimin is in a different category! Love his dance and his voice. "Cherish that dance practice". I agree.
Each BTS member are working on solo albums before they enlist in Mandatory Military Service. Other BTS members have finished their album. 1) RM- album called "lndigo" 2) Jin- single called "Astronaut" 3) J-Hope- album called "Jack in the box" 4) Jimin- albums called"FACE" (full album will release) on 3/24 5) Suga- worldwide tour April-July, new album should come then. 7) V- still working on his album 8) Jungkook- still working on his album Each member gets the opportunity to express their own individuality on their solo album. And if you're surprised by jimin you're definitely surprised by the other member. BTS will not be back together as a group until after Mandatory Military Service which should end after 12/25. The dance practice for Set Me Free it's off the chain, you're going to love it.

Appreciate your reaction :) Based on what Jimin's has always stated, he is setting himself free from the hate, criticism and feeling that he had to hide parts of himself. He is not referring to BTS or his label. Lie is another song he brought out addressing some of these type of issues (hiding his true self, portraying a lie)
It is a German poem that goes with the theme of the song. That's what is written on him. All I got to say is whoever got to put that on his body won at life...
