There are a TON of tier lists out there for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. From serious ones ranking character viability, to less serious ones about characters crouches or taunts. Well, this one certainly lands in the latter category, as I will be ranking characters on their level of Edge.
Now I consider myself an authority on Edge, not so much in the 4chan, Idubbbz variety but more along the lines of the “kid that wears all black” (which I still do), so I think I’m qualified to debate on this topic.
I’m not super happy with how this video turned out. This was a little idea I had that I just kind of threw together and recorded to see how it would turn out and it’s… alright, I guess. I’ll still upload it for you all in the meantime, while I’m working on some bigger video projects, so enjoy.
As you can probably tell I stole a lot of footage from ProsafiaGaming, so like whoopsie.

Kinda like Samus and Fox it doesn't define him. Well I mean he becomes less introverted because of it but at the end of the day he still blushes after a good and comfortable videogame session. Though he fights against an army of pigs-nazis. (?)

I understood that more as the tragedy being the catalyst for a character expressing edginess. Lucas took on really heavy grief and kept going which is very mature. I'd say he's a Hero tier.

He probably took the kirby games at face value. In the anime, he was one of the last Star Warriors (including Meta Knight), whereas the games have WAY deeper lore.

I don't know about Doc, he has completely forsaken the Hippocratic Oath and his taunt where he does the stomping thing with his foot implies a more sadistic nature he harbors. Even from a gameplay standpoint he is straight up more violent than Mario and uses his medical knowledge to weaponize drugs that destroy both organic and inorganic matter itself. Also the only game he's missing from after his introduction is Brawl which means hes Tabuu in disguise.

Dark Pit basically spends the first third of uprising fighting anybody and everyone at random. You spent a whole chapter chasing him through some old temple till you beat him and he escapes. During the raid on Medusa's castle he comes out of nowhere and face kicks the guardian not into oblivion (hurting himself in the process in the Japanese version), but then disappears again until Viridi shows up where he ends up joining forces with her general on their moon base to keep pit from blowing it up (he failed). After that he disappears again but ends up teaming up with pit during the Chaos Kin arc because during the 3 years Pit spent as a ring he learns that if out disappears, so does he. Pit ends up sacrificing himself to save dark pit, Dark Pit returns the favor by bringing out to the magic fountain of youth rewind spring and he's basically a good guy for the rest of the game although he never actually stops acting super antagonistic and according to the palutena's guidance in smash 4 he's joined back up with Viridi, so it'd consider him a rival maybe?

he is a anti-heroe but whit a more rebeld kind personality, according for what he say he is a manifestation of all the supress feelings Pit was keeping from himself, since the Mirror of trut was destroying in the process he is what is can say a imperfect copy meaning he is not completely evil or good so he is not aligement whit anyone and that is why you sometimes fight him and others he will help you (many belive is for the fear he had of dissapeard if Pit does die), the fact he is now the officer of nature is quiet hilariouse since he tend to detest the Gods and the way they bind the rules at their favor by not caring at all what will happen to the others

@@zotken8925 i would agree but Kirby fits closer to the "no comprehension of good of evil." Type. The dude is a baby and all he does is react to things. Granted these things are both 'good and Massacre' like choices. He 'Decides' DeDede must be guilty amd lays waste to the poor guys castle, and then has no remorse at all for all the damage he caused. He does what he wants, when and how he wants, the fact he is 'on the side of good' is coincidental. Get in his way, and he WILL kill you, no remorse, no hesitation. You just Die. Or worse, you either die or get trapped for eternity in a stomach dimension. Either way its over and your gone. But at the very same time if ya ask him to help he will go so far as to Smack around the sun and the moon. So its very much a real toss up. Is he good because he help others? Is he evil for ending the lives of thousands just because hes hungry?

@@vladtepes2667 As opposed to ROB and Wario, who are the epitome of edgy designs. "It's not just about what's on the outside, but on the inside" is what the uploader said. Contrary to Smash's depiction, Shulk is about 55% unbridled rage for the majority of the game. He has a tragic backstory, he's the emissary of the game's villain for the first half, he's undead for the whole thing, he has a vengeant streak strong enough to wipe out an entire race, and the entire endgame is about killing an asshole god. If _ROB_ can get into at least the "tragic backstory" part, Shulk more than deserves a spot.

I personsally don't care for Xenhonablde it doesn't interest me. When you tell me that Shulk has unbrideled rage to me that sounds more like your talking about the Hulk. I just don't think shulk is intimidating if he changed his look amd ditched the weird looking clothing then maybe he could look more oppsimg but for me i dont see him as an absolute mad lad i just seem him as the goof ball that sometimes only wears only his underwear.

Lucina has a tragic backstory, coming from a future literally in ruin where both your parents are dead is pretty edgy. Though I guess the ending of awakening made sure that never happened, but considering how lucina doesn’t cease to exist when that happens means that the future she’s from still happens.

Time travel in Nintendo can be weird and broken in logic (Looks at Ocarina of Time's ending). I don't know if Lucina can travel to the fallen timeline anymore after the ending of Awakening; of course, I didn't finish the final battle of that game...

ConComEX I assume your suggesting that the smash version of lucina comes from the good timeline created at the end of the awakening cause she would have no reason to lie about where she comes from in her original game. Though it’s clear that lucina in smash brothers comes from the fallen timeline cause it’s shown in her smash bros 4 reveal trailer. She’s fighting alongside robin and chrom meaning she has to be the lucina from the fallen timeline because a.) lucina in the good timeline would have no reason to go back in time and b.) even if good timeline lucina did go back in time to continue a timeloop would she even be able to what to do to stop a future she has no knowledge of? Moral of the story, Lucina is edgy cause her parents died and her whole world was in ruin

@@Random-yg1fi I'm not saying that she lied, I just think that it's acceptable for Lucina to be able to stay in the Chrom timeline after the evil timeline is defeated/eliminated. Again, I don't know exactly how it works, and time-travel is a broken concept anyway. You might just end up creating a self-sustaining loop you see!

Gross humor is edgy humor in its most primal state, and wario is the grossest smash character by far therefore wario is the most primal edgelord. Pluss he literally can't die, he's been poisoned, turned into stone, drowned, burned to a pile of ash, turned into a zombie, stung so bad he swelled up like a balloon, but no matter what happens to him he can't die he just gets back up. Some I disagreewith: Ness & Lucas: Ness would go into heroes, as he willingly sacrificed his organic body, not knowing if he would be able to even return, to stop the literal personification of evil in Earthbound, Giygas, and Lucas would probably either be same tier as Ness, or in Tragic Backstory. Kirby: Come on, Salty Spitoon level, he may look cute, but he fights gods on a regular basis, he'd be able to get in. Same with Shulk, he beat Zanza. And.... thats about it really. And besides, those could just be based on where they'd want to go. I mean sure, all 3 could potentially enter the Salty Spitoon, but due to all 3 being LITERALLY KIDS, they'd prefer a safer place.

Yeah though he disliked Pit a lot at the beginning still help him with the Medusa problem. Then after noticing that his existence was shared by Pit's existence when as he said it himself that during the 3 years Pit was trapped in the Ring of Chaos he "ceased" to exist until he was free so... after that he just helps in a kinda disinterested way but at that point he doesn't have an ulterior motive to hurt Pit anymore in fact it would be the opposite it is in his best interest to keep him alive. So... unless the ring thing is something that the english translation made up (Because Uprising script changed some things between the original version and the translation) the conversation of the Palutena Guidance of him saying he joined Viridi to fight Pit and Palutena seems really strange...

Don’t forget Lucina. She grew up in hell on earth and had to fight weird zombie soldier things that were summoned by a demon possessed Robin. She had to travel back in time just so she could at least save one world from Grima. Also her parents died as well, although I don’t know if it was ever specified if they were murdered in front of her. Also Robin could also be her mother if you decide to go down that rout, making her fight against Grima all the more tragic.

Kirby destroys gods (Magolor (kinda), Marx and Void termina) amongst many other intense evil threats including 2 giant eyeballs, 2 clockwork stars, the best warrior in the galaxy (also metaknight fought him but we aren't talking about him), not to mention dark matter swordsman and dark nebula. Also he is of the race from the Universe that came before his, and he is this powerful while being just (in the anime at least) a baby. Also its heavily implied that he is a form of void termina so he could not even be of a race from before his universe there is also the possibility that he IS god. So yeah he's pretty tough. Also please explain what you mean by with no concept. Also ness destroyed the embodiment of evil itself not just evil only in his body (but yeah I dont think he'd want to go to salty spittoon)

We don't really know why King K Rool stole the banana hoard, but the most popular theories are 1, he likes bananas, 2, they're the perfect food to feed his army, or 3, he stole them so DK would starve. From what I've heard, he actually hates bananas, so that rules that out. As for the second one, crocodiles are not herbivores, so they wouldn't be eating bananas. (also, if King K Rool hates bananas, then he wouldn't want a pile of them laying around.) Which leaves the last one, which is pretty evil in my opinion. Not just killing them outright, but leaving them to starve is quite a terrible thing to do. He has also kidnapped multiple Kongs before with intention to torture/kill. Not a very nice guy. Also, yes, he is wearing armor. He does not have a golden belly, because in some games he isn't wearing it and his belly is a tan color. plus the designer said it was armor.

honestly, and this is off topic a bit, but im glad im seeing a lot of new smash channels pop up from nowhere into the community with these kinds of vids. it's entertaining as hell and i love seeing how creative everyone is lol im trying and not that good myself, but it's something i wish i could be apart of soon
