If you have access to Adobe After Effects there's a really handy little tool on there called rotobrush which picks up the edges where you're trying to mask and it does like 70% of the work. The other 30% is just fixing areas it detected that you don't want and realigning it like every 10 frames or so. One single mask is SV used to take forever but I can get them out much faster in AE.
