Monday, 14 May marked the 8th day since the building collapse in Victoria Street, George and the 4th day of Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management’s assistance during the rescue and recovery effort alongside a multidisciplinary team of emergency services. Station Commander Wayne Sternsdorf, team leader of the multidisciplinary team who through effective teamwork rescued Gabriel Guamba, a survivor after being entrapped in the rubble for more than 116 hours, shares experiences from the scene.
