Shawn Oakman’s NFL dreams may finally become real after being falsely accused of rape in 2016 as a college standout and acquitted late last month of second-degree felony sexual assault charges. The former Baylor University defensive lineman has renewed hopes of continuing his football career at the game’s highest level.
Oakman, a chiseled 6-foot-9 and 275 pounds during his playing days, was considered a first round NFL draft prospect and even regarded by some as potentially the #1 draft pick. As his case pended for 3 years he remained in shape and never lost that dream. He is now more determined than ever to play this year in the NFL if given the opportunity.
Now that Oakman is acquitted, he looks to make that dream a reality.
