100% true, but just he won them by sacrificing his innocence, he will never walk on earth again as the same happy person that he was before. Ik its a movie but this is real life, this is how war really is. God save their souls, all the countries that are in war.
This was my favorite war movie since it does not show glories of war. A scene in the movie shows them celebrating stealing food from a farmer and making jokes and being happy for once, sad music continues to play in the backround since this shows how the german soldiers had to steal to get good food.
or the sad music is there to emphasise the point that no matter what little bits of happiness you may find during war, war and death is always going to be looming in the background. death and war is represented by the music
1:57, that hit hard. Poor Paul did not know what he signed up for and lost everyone. Liget, after seeing that it made him question what he was fighting for.
The problem now is people just see these social media influencers as the heroes/inspirations (people who’ve gained a following based on their appearance) yet there were 16 year olds lying in no man’s land with their intestines hanging out; dying for their country - but nobody gives a f**k about them. Why are these influencers being seen as the heroes yet soldiers dying for their country get no praise or following. It’s so messed up
Tjaden's death was probably the saddest to me followed up by Kat. While everyone else died in combat, Tjaden was the only one of the group who maybe could've gone home if he survived the amputation. Kat might've died in the final battle with Paul, but with how good he was shown to be, maybe he could've been there to save Paul too. Even if Tjaden was forever crippled, at least the memory of Paul, Kat, Franz, and Albert would've lived on. Then again, I also understand if he wouldn't want to be the final guy permanently disabled in a defeated country. Very rarely do I have to pause movies to let things sink in, but this was definitely one of those.
It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, more vengeance, more desolation.War is hell. - General William Tecumseh Sherman, June 17th 1879.
@@computerboi4667 I’m sure he stuffed dirt in his mouth to stop the French soldier from yelling because it hurt Paul mentally to hear the suffering he had caused
The men actually did this irl so the younger generation could live, and now we have women complaining about small things and saying their lives are harder
exactly. I cant say much myself, i am the new generation but it disgusts me how little people realize that most of their "problems" that theyre getting "depressed" over are so trivial and just downright stupid.
@Onxshi Kids vaping saying there lives are tough what about the soldiers they have to sacrifice them self's for kids who vape and Dumb delusional kids
The new generation becomes Nazis and elected Hitler? The generation after the lost generation was a bunch of Nazis fascist and communist. Wtf are you even talking about
They died for a banner They starved for a banner They cried for a banner They lost there sanity for a Banner May they not be forgotten Both sides did wrong But may there souls Rest for the6 have fought good😔
Great film. Watched it at the weekend. A good perspective from the other side of the fence than the always Hollywood side of the story. Everyone loses. There are no winners.
I see you You see me How pleasant This feeling The moment You hold me I missed you I'm sorry I've given What I have I showed you I'm growing The ashes Fall slowly As your voice Consoles me As the hours pass I will let you know That I need to ask Before I'm alone How it feels to rest On your patient lips To eternal bliss I'm so glad to know As the hours pass I will let you know That I need to ask Before I'm alone How it feels to rest On your patient lips To eternal bliss I'm so glad to know We're swaying To drum beats In motion I'm feeling My patience Controlling The question I won't speak We're telling The stories Our laughter He knows me We're leaving We're talking You're closer It's calming As the hours pass I will let you know That I need to ask Before I'm alone How it feels to rest On your patient lips To eternal bliss I'm so glad to know As the hours pass I will let you know That I need to ask Before I'm alone How it feels to rest On your patient lips To eternal bliss I'm so glad to know The night will hold us close And the stars will guide us home I've been waiting for this moment We're finally alone I turn to ask the question So anxious, my thoughts Your lips were soft like winter In your passion, I was lost As the hours pass I will let you know That I need to ask Before I'm alone How it feels to rest On your patient lips To eternal bliss I'm so glad to know As the hours pass I will let you know That I need to ask Before I'm alone How it feels to rest On your patient lips To eternal bliss I'm so glad to know As the hours pass I will let you know That I need to ask Before I'm alone How it feels to rest On your patient lips To eternal bliss I'm so glad to know As the hours pass I will let you know That I need to ask Before I'm alone How it feels to rest On your patient lips To eternal bliss I'm so glad to know
The Dodo birds are an example of why if everything was perfect, it would end with a disaster. Wars are bad, but at the same time they can prevent even worse things from happening.
War is war and hell is hell, and remember that war is the reason humans are so advanced and civilized today, we learned morals through war, and the reason most of us think war is bad comes from the lessons they learned in them, but we have no right to talk about something we never experienced, no soldier enjoyed war, but a lot of them didn't think of it as hell, they thought of it as a form of glory, as a form to prove your true self, as contributing to something bigger than themselves, you might say it was propaganda, but why did so many ww1 veterans that experienced "hell" came back on the ww2, the point is, we all have heard the people that cryed from the horrors of it, but we will never hear the voices of the ones that grew by it, of the ones that, overall felt it like a test, of those who felt proud that they did what they could for the country they loved, even if theyr country lost, we will never hear their voices, not only beacuse modern society is made to look at war from all the horrible sides but beacuse most of them didnt enjoy it neither, and they will never comment as a an adventure, or as something cool, it something personal, its a sacrifice, its knowing that you are figthing an enemy like you, its being sure that chances are you will not come back but still figth, figth till your last breath, for your country, for your unit, for your country, for yourself. Well I recommend reading Storm of Steel, it does change your perspective, the way he sees boredom as the biggest threat to a soldier, or as a sad thing to miss a big fight, it truly changes all this culture that war is hell, no tryna change your perspective or anything, just wanting to make you all see the other side of the coin, the one politicians movies and social media doesn't show
My Great Grandpa and My Uhr Opa both had to put up with the war. My great grandpa was lucky to come back with his life. But still he started drinking, but he made a good life out of it. So why the fuck are you talking? If you spent a day out in the battlefield you’d be shitting and pissing your pants. War Is Hell, And your a lucky bastard to not need to fight in it.
You’re right about a lot of stuff. But how was all this death necessary? All those boys died for us and us young Leute are too busy trying to figure out what gender they are then to be great full
People never come back from war. those who were in the war will no longer be able to live in peace in civilian life, and therefore many returned back to the war. It's definitely not about fame. Yes, of course, there were soldiers who went there because of propaganda, but on the battlefield they hardly thought about glory, ideology, and so on. On the battlefield, for the most part, you're trying to survive, and the main rule for me is: "It will either define you or kill you". And yes, this is just my point of view and nothing more. I didn't fight and can't know for sure. And you're right about progress.
Imagine being murdered and shot in the chest yet still fighting for your brothers and country, Blood gashing from your shoulder and being exploded. Hearing all these screams ⚔️
Why should you love war or like it, if it is the concept then probably yes but for it self it is just gruesome to think about your comrades falling and dying and then coming back and having PTSD for lifetime.
@@Quincy_000 sadly there are a lot of people who still see war as this glorified shit that is filled with heroes and Honor and whatnot, thanks to games and well hollywood movies, most who never served or had any in their family who served and went through some form of hellish combat rarely understand the brutality war can inflict physically and mentally. Sadly met quite a few so far serving in the military who are far to eager to deploy and experience combat not grasping what it actually brings with it. this movie is one of few that manage to capture the disgusting vile nature of war and how chaotic it really is.
``war there are no winners but suffering and deaths elder starts a war and the youngs die for it that is war we can be happy in start but in the end we only die in suffering the horror of a war and it shown how humans can do to themselfs.´´ - me
