@@Alejandra_Gonzalez_ somebody glossed over history and thought themselves an expert on the subject it seems... LOL Oh how shocking would it be for you when the day comes you realize all the wars fought in the Napoleonic wars, it was always France defending herself being declared on, and always Napoleon rising to the challenge in defense of her honor by wars goaded by either British money and ego, and other Monarchs egos being threatened and in fear of being considered lesser which ironically acting on such fears ultimately made them the lesser in the shadow of a man whose name defined an era by his own actions not by dint of existing, like some old crow Victoria...
Napoleon was speaking to a dieing officer on a battle field once, he said “you are injured, sir” The officer very calmly bleeding, responded “I am dieing, but I have died for you and your greatness”
@@shelty3178 Hi Shelty, I meant Napoleon was based hahaha. But based is a compliment to me not criticism. I hope you're all well in your life. Take care of you and God bless you.
Craziest part is most of those extras are actually real soldiers in the Red Army at the time the film was shot. If you look close you can see the Russian Style of military marching because they cant help but do it.
@@twerk_it_like_nae_nae7979 It's not only Waterloo, War and Peace is there too (also Bondachuk). I'm wondering if there isn't another film I don't recognise too.
3:38 as a Mongolian who spent my childhood on a horseback in the countryside. I get insane goosebump in this particular cavalry charge scene. Truly respect French history!.
The largest cavarly charge was during the siege of Vienna , between 20k and 30k polish winged hussars charged on Ottomans. The arrivals of Gandalf at the Helm's deep in LOTR 2 is directly inspired from this.
@@Z.94pe_Japanese_PhaleristBritish Propaganda says he was short actually, in his time French Inches were higher so technically he was average height, he hired big bodyguards which were taller than him too.
As an American… I never goof on France’s military history. Napoleon is a historical mic drop until the end of time Vive l'empereur !🇫🇷 🇺🇸 Vive liberté!!
I'm russian but I respect Napoleon even though we were enemies. He made a lot of good things for France and Europe. He really wanted Europe to be great. And he also tried to find a connection with our Tsar Alexander 1 to work and develop together. But Alexander was a vain person. Pity. Napoleon definitely wasn't a villain.
@MarvelousAnarchy he also died a bit young and after getting exiled to Saint-Helena he never saw his wife and kid ever again but atleast his family was given titles and a big amount of money
What amazes me is that my great-great-grandfather's father's father was a soldier of Napoleon who invaded Piemont in 1797 and i m very proud of that A hug from Italy
Napoléon is the man I respect the most He done so much in this life He was a little boy in military school, he became the Emperor of France I’m really born in the wrong century, I could do anything to just see him.
"what can we do, sir?" Said the officer "There's nothing we could do....." -Napoleon This is where Napoleon get depressed and stressed about the lost of the battle.
Pourquoi ne pas etre fier? je vois tous ces commentaires etre fier de nous, SOYONS FIERS, GLOIRE AU PERE GLOIRE AU FILS GLOIRE AU SAINT ESPRIT, Vive la France.
They did confront each other directly, at Borodino. However Kutusov was ill and didn’t take command of the battle as much. However at Austerlitz he tried to save the two allied armies from falling but failed due to the French momentum.
I literally watch your video every morning , it's just amazing. The best Little Dark Age I ever seen so far about Napoléon Ist ! Vive l'Empereur , vive la France !
Its actually a soviet film series call "War and Peace" and as far as i know its not that much centered around napoleon but its still pretty good. I bealive its from 1967 or around that time
France changed forever after Napoleon rules, but today something gone bad about the France, from the glorious and proud empire turn into a joking chaotic country

Those playing regular soldiers and officers in the film aren't actors, but actual Soviet army soldiers and officers called to participate in the movie, many of which fought and survived the bloodiest battles of the bloodiest theatre of the bloodiest war in history. They are literal men of steel and I'm sure their expressions were natural
@@mrobocop1666Not to mention the legendary film director, Sergei Bondarchuk was himself a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a well decorated one at that. And understandably he had a lot of friends in high places if you will.
I sure hope my visions for the future on the negative tract of things dont happen. But should it, I can feel the cold light of day in London giving melancholic and cathartic comfort.
They walked stubbornly, fists in their pockets They smiled thinking of Gavroche They were sinking in the wind And always, they hoped at sunrise that the day would come one day When will it be daylight comrade? The funny thing is Suvorov if he ever faced Napoleon would lose. By the time of Napoleon’s rise, Suvorov was just too old to properly fight against a 30 year old energized officer who already fought in Italy previously and knew the terrain there.
@@pablitom978 не в страхе, Наполеон шёл прямиком стрелой к Москве и получился коридор, когда наполеон уже радовался победе, на границе России это коридор замкнули и французы были в ловушке, началась зима и отступая, он потерял всё
although they mainly use those two movies. It also has small traces of other films, for example the French miniseries of Napoleon towards the end of the montage and another more modern film that portrays the battle of Waterloo and I believe also war and peace from 1956.
Napoleone used France for what he wanted : Power . Napoleone Buonaparte is his real name from Corsica. His family originally from Tuscany fought with Pasquale Paoli against France. His father Carlo and him support the values and ideals of Paoli. Only when reached the power left the ideals of Corsica for the unification of Europe under his rules. He was really proud of his Italian and Tuscan ancestors and he used to Say : "I am more Italian and Tuscan than Corso"He changed is surname in Bonaparte because he was discriminated and bullied in France because he was not considered french. He learned French at Age of 9 and spoke French all his Life With a very strong Italian accent. He and his family were speaking Italian at home. His family moved to Italy and married Italian nobility.
No matter how you put it or feel about it, Napoleon may have not had the largest empires nor the largest army in history but one thing is for sure his legacy will live on in the hearts of many. His victorys will always live on
@@KeysAndDoorss Wanna know interesting facts about how France lost it's mainland in ww2 but still managed to win ? Britain was the largest supplier of artillery and ammo to the german army in 1940, why ? Because France expected them to hold at least 5 days, instead the teethIess brits ran away at the first bullet in their direction and leaving all of there equipment for the germans, even worse is that it left a huge gap behind France lines leading the to the killing, starving and capture of more than 1 million soldiers. France saved Britain entire army twice at Bir Hakeim and Dunkirk, so not only did France fought and won ww2 but saved the british that just served as an USA base during the war while doing close to nothing on the terrain and barely escaped destruction thanks to France.
