The scene where he stabs the french soldier, and finds out that he has a wife and kids made me cry ngl. Seeing the realisation on his face, he knows that he has just killed a man with a life. That man he killed wasn't just a soldier. He was a husband. A father. A son. A nephew. A brother. A human.
we were at war with each other for 100s of years before this it only stopped after ww2 and im glad @@jimmcneal5292 peace in euro is amazing finally we are brothers!
For me the hardest part of this movie was the beginning. Seeing those boys full of life, joy, strength, and pride. Knowing soon it will all come to ruin.
War is young men fighting each other, killing each other, not knowing each other, not hating each other.theyre forced to do that, by the old men, who know each other, who hate each other, but don't fight each other because they're dumb bastards.
The most terrifying thing about this movie is how Paul slowly detireaites throughout the movie, it shows what the effects of war has on a young man, great edit.
If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend the film "Come and See". The same happens to the protagonist in it. All Quiet on the Western Front and Come and See are masterpieces.
I was saluting for the fallen for there country who served and protected but now people are disrespecting them like half of the furries on tictox are following trends like ( "kam" * *kill all men**) I would like to say lots of female's want men to die little do they know we do almost everything and now they are disrespecting veterans making fun of survivors of dead THEY NEED TO STOP THIS INSTANT IT'S TO PUT OF HAND and most woman are waiting for men to become extinct in 4M-5M years but those people forgot that we serve and protect, we build and destroy, we respond we fight
due the ending gets me. he dies right before it ends, never got to see his family, his mother, his father, his sister or his brother. He died on the battlefield, probably knowing they lost.
"Only the ones that die see the end of the war" if you think about it, this quote is pretty true, there'll be always war, even if we dont know about the war, the country "Niger" has an civil war going on for 2-3 years now and most people dont know, if you die, peace finally awaits you, I guess???
@@TheCODSqwadit was because He was bayonneted. Soldiers aren't allowed to collect Dogtags of Fallen soldiers, If they've been killed through Melee/Bayonnet attacks
As a German, my great great grandpa was in World War I then my great grandpa was in World War II my great great grandpa left a message that my family still keeps safe he said “I couldn’t kill the innocent British soldier with a big hammer. I didn’t want to kill him, but then a German soldier told me.” “ smashes head with a fucking hammer.” “And so I did so because they threatened to kill anybody who didn’t obey the officers orders and he was an officer.” my great grandpa, who was in World War II said “ Today we have invaded Warsaw Poland and we successfully did it. We are planning to invade Denmark, Norway, Finland, and France to in the future.” and we still have those two messages from them to this day. Edit: and the reason why I put it in English is because not a lot of people speak German and I know how to translate stuff in English because I learned English Spanish and German. Well I knew German ever since I was born because I’m German but I just had to translate everything
Это капитализм направил одни народы на другие народы Европейские народы и также немцы и русские сокращаются , вымирают, рождаемость на минимуме Зачем воевать когда можно жить в мире
my great-grandfather from Siberia went through the Second World War from 1941 to 1945, finishing it in Berlin, had several military awards, but never told anything specific about the war... at most, these are a couple of stories not related to military operations. there is nothing good in war - I hope that the current conflict in Ukraine will not go into a more serious phase
Really great 4k edit, dude. I loved the way you showed that the soldiers were pretty enthusiastic to fight, and it was impactful to watch their friends die right in front of them, knowing their death was certain. Nice sync as well. Keep it up!
“For those who think war is hell, you are brainwashed, for those who like war,you are also brainwashed, for those who have been in war, they where brainwashed, noone should ever think of war” -unknown Russian soldier
In the book in doesn't die in a final huge and violent fight. He dies the last day of war from a random enemy bullet. On a quiet day with no fighting. So quiet that the radio man of his section reported that all was quiet on the western front
This movie perfectly shows the brutality the war. Every friend you make will die and you just keep fighting till you lose emotion. That's the brutality of war
Paul killed so many people in that movie. The reason you dont feel the same way for them is you didnt see their story until that point but each death should be just as tragic. War should always be the last option not used by politicians to seem tough like we saw in ww1 and returning in today's age.
I watched this masterpiece yesterday and I felt that it was the war and diplomatic pressure that made Hitler furious and outrageous in anger to start another war in future
this movie and edit are great it really shows how gritty and painful war is unlike Hollywood they think its gritty and a happy ending. My great grandfather told me this when I was young and wanted to be a soldier in war there's no such thing as a happy ending.
@@Belugamale8738 because if you see a enemy soilder and think of him as human with emotions family and all that stuff every single time it is not only gonna break you down emotionally even more than if you just stopped thinking about it but it would also distract you which is not good in a setting like war
The scene where he did 1 minute before the war ended actually happened. he was the last person to die in WW2. His name is Henry Nicholas John Gunther, an American Soldier.
I used to think that war was about soldiers who had a fiery spirit to fight their enemies to death to achieve victory, but soldiers are also humans, and have hearts too, he goes through various obstacles not only war but also sees the death of several of his friends in his own eyes, killing soldiers who apparently have families waiting at home, have stress, fatigue, depression, sadness, and PTSD, and the worst case ended in death in a pile of corpses, Rest in peace soldiers
The sad thing about war is when 1 side has better weapons, all it does is make the other side have better loses. Always think when your winning, all it does is makes the other person loose something, and you never know what they truly have left
2:23 I remember seeing the scene where he’s trying to give him water. Never understood it because I was like 7, but.. now I understand nobody wants to die for nothing in a war.
...this movie came out in 2022...so unless you're now 9 years old, I highly doubt two years would make any difference. Unless, you saw the 1979 version and the exact scene remains more or less unchanged
This movie is one of the few movies that make me cry. usually I don't cry to movies, not because i don't think those movies are sad, but because I know they aren't real. this one just feels real. and knowing that very similar thing happened in the actual war just devastates me.
I felt that even though I'm a man, you can stand up for yourself, you have to fight for the country, this life is your destiny for nothing to fight for in politics
Война страшная штука и благодоря этому монтажу и фильму, мы можем узнать как было трудно тогда и сейчас так же... А монтажор ты красава и заслуживаешь уважение! 😌
This video is a perfect demonstration of the quote:- War is like a game to those who haven't experienced it.(call of duty 4 modern warfare probably some wise old Chinese man maybe sun tzu)
Some schools in germany did (of course 7-9 classers) to show how brutal, cold & dark WW1 was, and to teach us that such an event should not happen again.
Even though as an American, this is the greatest war movie ever made. For me it surpasses Saving Private Ryan, 1917, Dunkirk. It has happy moments, sad moments, and the theme is amazing. A story of pride and death but it’s so much more than that. I cried like 4 times. And the score is amazing. Bravo!
This movie tells the truth about war, to all my brothers, no matter what country you are in, no matter where you come from, we are one, we are the future of the earth. Together, we must keep this world peaceful, not letting anyone die in vain.
One of the things that made this movie so incredibly devastating, at least in my opinion, is that we follow Paul through all this. He slowly deteriorates, sees everyone around him dying, he cant do anything about it, he feels somehow important to us, since we can relate to his reactions. And in the end, everything he saw, all the horrors of those useless massacres, we expect him to go home, think about it and tell the story. But no, the Stories he found, the man with a family he killed, all his friends wishes, all useless, all just as if it never happened, sinc ePaul just dies as well. And noone else knew I guess the movie wanted to show us, that all that was as inhumane as it gets, but no one gives a fuck about you, you dont count. This film, is a remarkable masterpiece
I’ve watched this edit everyday since I first discovered it, probably the best I’ve seen. Kat and Tjaden were my favorites and their deaths were equally as sad, but I understand it was about the 4 boys. You should do one on those two as well!
You know, every time I watch this film, you always, feel sorry for the brave men, who fought in the Great War. It didn't matter whether, you were British, French, Italian, Russian, German, Ottoman or whatever country you came from, they at this point, probably thought, 'What was the point of all this?'
