Growth of the spirit cannot be achieved through religion alone. While religion may guide us in ways both large and small, ultimately we ourselves are responsible for determining our own original worldview. We construct and continually reconstruct our worldview according to life experiences, just as we learn to distinguish right from wrong when “right” or “wrong” actions are directed toward us. To illustrate this point, in this video I have shared a few paragraphs from a subsection titled “The Religion of Science” in the book, The Road Less Traveled: A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values, and Spiritual Growth, by the psychiatrist M. Scott Peck, MD. Nobody can prescribe you with “the perfect way of life,” because nobody knows what is best for you but yourself. Nobody has lived your life but yourself. It is best to use your unique set of experiences and observations to construct your own worldview. The answers are not “out there”; they are “in here.” 🌀
