After a voting poll I made on GameJolt, I have made a playthrough video so that people can watch it or are unable to play the game properly.
I wanna warn that there are some SPOILERS, so if you’re not familiar with this game, I don’t recommend watching the whole thing.
And here we have it. It’s Heaven Saga finally. One of Ages Team’s large games that I’m proud to make with my indie studio. Even though it still isn’t perfect, but it gives me some hopes. Even this demo was quite long. It takes about half an hour to reach the end of the demo.
This version of Heaven Saga is the successor of the OG Heaven Saga, the one that has the goofy and pixelated sprites. That game wasn’t being worked on anymore after its last version (v1.0.0.0) was released because of disorganization. So then Daisy calls the studio to start over from scratch, and they did it. Heaven Saga was completely redone. Here is supposed to have a more mature and darker story, and the game itself is more original.
The plot of Heaven Saga (2023) was slightly similar to the OG version but was changed a lot. This plot has Sonic who has to rest in Heaven to recover his strength physically and spiritually, in which was offered by Lailah, who was assigned to be a guardian angel of Sonic throughout his journey. During Sonic’s sleep, the demons became very intolerable of Sonic’s victory and seizes the Chaos Emerald for world domination. After a little volley ball game at Heaven, Sonic offers to help and stop the world domination, in which Lailah warns him that the demons he will be fighting isn’t going to be easy to defeat. And right at his first encounter, Tshinderamaro shows up WITH a Chaos Emerald at her hands. Of course, despite her possession of the Chaos Energy, Sonic defeats her, but another demon shows up and scares Tshinderamaro off, requesting Sonic to join his side despite being a demon.
This plot is quite better than the OG version to be honest. Better than having demons ON Heaven and stolen characters confronting Sonic here and there. The OG version is nostalgic, yeah, but it has too many flaws. But hey, you should be able to see a lot less flaws in this one.
If you never played this game and find the video interesting, why not give it a try? It’s a bit heavy, so I recommend using a medium or high-end PC, or restarting your device before playing.
