This video brings sweet memories for me and my wife as we had our honeymoon in Phuket 30 years ago and I remembered Patong Beach very well as we stayed at Patong Beach Hotel. The beer gardens are still there. Haha. Loud music at night till midnight.
Wow, I think Phuket would be a great place for a honeymoon. It seems like Patong Beach is similar now compared to 30 years ago. Thanks for watching Douglas!
Phuket was never really high on our list before, but we absolutely loved Phuket Town! It really reminded us of Penang. The Phuket Town Sunday night market was a great one!
welcome back to SEA...hope you'll be back to Malaysia and share experience the differences during and after covid year...cost of living is way much higher now but perhaps there are other expect of living to share with your viewers..Have fun in Thailand!
You're right, touristy restaurants can be expensive in Phuket. I paid $10 for an order of Pad Thai. As far as Patong Beach goes, it's only the Soi Bangla street that is the party street. The other streets in the area have a lot of things for sale including tailored suits for less than $100 each.
Hey guys. Enjoyed the video. Good to know that Phuket can actually be pretty affordable. We haven't been there yet and, to be honest, our impression of Phuket wasn't that great. Our impressions were that it was mostly like the Patong beach area. However, you have shown us things about Phuket that we find more attractive and maybe it's worth a visit. Thanks for that.
Yes, Grab is available, but it is a bit expensive. Some of our Grab trips were over 200 Baht or US$6, and prices can be even higher than that. But yes, it is available, and when we used it the drivers arrived quickly.
Another great video - thanks. However, I don't think you mentioned using conventional taxis on the island - I would recommend prospective travellers research previous travellers' experiences as several negative reports exist.
Great information, thanks for sharing. We only used a conventional taxi once (from the airport) that I mentioned in the video, and based on that bad experience we decided not to use taxis for the rest of our time in Phuket. Thanks for watching our videos!
@Snail Travelers I used to live in Kata and also in Kamala beach, so when you said that it was the east side, I was like "No it isn't!". Lol, either side, it's all 👍 good. Sabai di Mai.
We haven't been to Pattaya yet, but like you said, we have heard people say that Pattaya is inexpensive compared to other places in Thailand. Thanks for watching our video!
Great advice. We used Grab around town a few times and were very satisfied. We were told Grab was not technically available from the airport, although some drivers are able to sneak their way in.
Thanks for the shoutout! Sorry you had such a bad experience at the airport taxi stand, doesn’t make it better but this is a regular occurrence, visitors and people who live here all give it a thumbs down. We still haven’t made it to King Rama park, maybe after we get a scooter we’ll stop by for a walk around the lake.
Thanks! Our time in Phuket was certainly enhanced by our time with you guys. Take care and we look forward to following the progress on your condo remodelling.
