@clutchcord1633 You're right, but Patrick Bateman should actually be the negative example. The entire movie shows that he actually has comically low self-esteem and everything he does is not because he feels comfortable, but because he needs external validation.
Patrick made me see life from a different point of view, now I am happier, mindly stronger and confident. I am a new man. We are all Patrick Bateman. Each one his way. Peace for every Patrick Bateman.

American psycho; Fist Club; Breaking Bad; I am thinking about the nature of masculinity and myself. On the on hand masculinity is necessary and is demanded from the society. On the other hand, all outcomes of masculinity are judged and criticised (i.e someone talks shit about your girlfriend, you punch him in the teeth. Now everyone believe s that it is necessary to say that you are wrong, that you had to act peacefully.) I can clearly see that despite what some people claim, masculinity is not always toxic, though it can also be (example: Heasinberg, Tyler Durden, Patrick Bateman). I cannot understand what masculinity is, though. A set of characteristics which are considered as ones of a male? Not sure. My definition is: masculinity - is a collected suffering which helps one care less about his or her self and, thus, act in a way considered as brave or courageous (Example, work your ass of on two jobs just to provide everything for your family). Also, a collected suffering which can be retranslated on others if needed. (Example: fist fight, military conflict, argument) However, masculine creature is not a bull. Not an agressive, easy-provoked monster. Such a creature, on the contrary, may be silent and calm. (Example: Jesse Pinkman at the end of the serial. And even Walter White soon after he was diagnosed with cancer.) It is just that masculinity contains a mechanism of "self-explosion". So it has to be controlled. Acceptance of everything, pluralism, tolerance and peace poison masculinity. What to do? I don't recommend starting a war. Just go to a boxing club. That will be enough, I believe.
You make a teally good point but i think that you should accept other ideologies and opinions even if they are different from yours but only if they don't affect you in any way
I was a psychopath until i been in an expirament to increase empathy and when i started feeling i know of how much of an asshole i want sure you want to go on life without fear of any thing but having feeling is way batter even tho you feel bad about yourself and are afried of danger and you dont like it thats shity but if you were a psychopath and started having emotions you wil strat seeing that ppl actualy hate you youre own mother sees you as a stranger she wil give you this look like she did everytime you saw but now when you have feeling that look have a diffrinte meaning this woman my mother dosent trust me before i didnt see that and i hated myself i was dissgusted i gave my mom a kiss and she ask what do you want money ? This is how my mom lived with me for 30 years my whole life i tought she thinks im nougthy sneaky and in my mind that was fun and cute well it isnt being a psychopath helped me survive death and truama if i was a normul kid where i lived they whold eat me alive but realy mybe they whold be my friends they didnt have to become my enemeys now that i look back im not sure if my past is real was i realy the victime i tought i was ?
