Bulgaria delivered amazing quality again. And what is even more impressive than that, is that they do not copy themselves. Their at least four - five last entries are exceptional without being reminiscent of each other. They do have originality, they don't follow recipes (Cyprus syndrome), and they deserve extra points for that. This year, they send a clear, sweet, intimate minimal composition, yet so strong and grabbing, with a crystal clear voice that matches perfectly the feeling of the song. And for such a slow song, it's full of happiness and optimism, which is very special, unique, and full of character. Another song that proves the relativity theory: 3 minutes feel like 30 seconds. Amazing, amazing, amazing.
yea this song really is amazing. Like I dont know how I would describe it to a friend. Its like a mix of Mary Poppins music and modern dark electro pop.
@@ESCTom I felt the same difficulty in describing it. Which confirms how unique and original the song is. And, Tom, you know very well that Eurovision loves, adores, and rewards uniqueness. It will end up VERY high. But VERY high. It's a possible winner.
Konstantinos Papaioannou my one wish from this year is that the unique songs flourish and the X factor crap (Finland, portugal, Poland) flunks and national finals get a kick up the ass and stop sending the safest songs
OMG.......I've been hugged by a song!!! The composition is mellow and warm. Viktoria seems a special artist (she insisted on having artistic input and has a writing credit on this too) Its like being wrapped in your favourite blanket...... I get your movie analogy completely...although I'd say more of a Audrey Hepburn 50s Breakfast At Tiffanys than The Sound Of Music!! Well done Bulgaria and well done the pure genius that is BM!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
I think we should crowdfund for him to write a song for Andorra or Liechtenstein each year so we get an extra Boris song😍 youre probably 100% right about the movie reference - Im an absolute dud with movies. 🥴 its weird cos theres no very discernable hook in this and yet ive had it on repeat - like you alluded to, it just the total effect the song has on your mood
Welcome back Bulgaria, with this wonderful song! I really like this, it's very dreamy and unique. I love these backing vocals that almost seem to be humming, I don't think I've ever heard that before. The comparison with Roxen is easily made: I really like them both. Bulgaria seems to be more dreamy, where Romania seems to be serving the emotions a bit more openly. Does that make sense? This should sail into the final. It's funny what you say about composers keeping their best work for their own country. I had never really thought of that, but no country other than Sweden seems to have been really successfull with a G:son song.
Yea i think roxen is a bit more brazen and younger in sound. this is a bit more mature and understated. Oh G:son TOTALLY keeps his best for Melfest, which i presume he thought was Kingdom Come. Presumably "Best of me" was his number 2
Wow, what a beautiful song. Boris Milanov is brilliant. I liked the suggestion in your German reaction video that we have a whole Eurovision competition filled with his songs. That would be awesome. Boris has written the two best songs in ESC 2020. He will be fighting himself for my number one ranking. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This is a unique, quality entry that juries will appreciate. Having said that however there are so many entries vying for the jury vote this year that its chances of success will ultimately come down to staging and televote appeal.
"Roxen but a little bit better" Exactly my first thought too lol. Both are kinda billie eilish-ish but Bulgaria did it with more originality and has more emotions.
I'm happy to have Bulgaria back, and glad they're sending something different. I like the chorus, but I lose interest a little during the verse. With the right staging this could be really cool though.
I love the Bulgarian entry. It isn't my favorite, mainly because I just don't feel the emotion, but it's just a very pretty song and I can't fault that. I hope it will do well.
I have watched so many reactions but your is the most realistic with all positive and negative comments. However nobody reacted and noticed anything about the lyrics of the song. Nobody notice the most important message that the creators and Victoria (since she is also involved in the creation of the lyrics, music and video) are sending with that song! The first time I heard it I felt it immediately! That song is taling the story of many women around the world suffering from domestic violence who are afraid to speak out! Now listen again! 😉 P.S. Btw do you think that the official release of the song on 7th March, just day before International Woman’s Day is a coincidence?! 😊
ah that is very cool - no i didnt notice it was before IWD. Yea one of the issues with reactions is that its very hard to process what youre seeing and talk, while still appreciating the lyrics. I have listened to the song more now and really like the lyrics
"It's like Roxen just a little bit better..." JINX YOU OWE ME A COKE!!! Literally, said the same thing at the same time!!! Also, Zelda ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Sir, you are a Scholar and a gentleman! You're a scholarly gentleman!
This did feel a bit sort of Judy Garland. Always fascinating to see what Milanov will do next. I think Romania though gives it a strong challenge. And we know Roxen can deliver live. So....it's all in the mix.....
As I child I would watch a lot of old movies (50s and 60s), often times musicals, and that intro/outro element is so reminiscent of something from one of those movies I can’t put my finger on which one. It’s gonna bug me the whole season! I like the song in theory, and all the elements are great and I see why it’s popular, unfortunately I don’t click with it. Regardless, very happy to see the return of Bulgaria
loooooooool Sean 😂😂🤣 Re: greece, yea im almost definite, as long as they dont open the show . the amount of money they put into that video, there will be similar effort in the performance.
Am I the only one to think that borislov melenov has given his best song to Germany 🤔 it's a nice song but it's one of those songs I have to be in the mood for
I like the song...maybe a bit better than Romania?! But both songs are not at all authentic sounding. I'd rather have someone sing and feel their own music and lyrics. It's not bad, but I don't feel it.
There's a fake version of little big's song after being "released" - don't get caught out. The video is funny but it's not them, and the music is the leaked sample on a loop. Although the finished product could well be no better than that lol
