Die ersten zwanzig Fahrzeuge wurden von 2016 bis Anfang 2020 ausgeliefert.[20]....."

Since 2008 we have been using the Variobahn, a low-floor tram made by the rail vehicle manufacturer Stadler. Due to the approximately 30 meter long lanes, the non-barrier-free vehicles on lines 301, 306 and 310 could gradually be replaced. The vehicles have folding ramps, air conditioning and video protection. Several multifunctional areas allow for a relaxed journey, e.g. with a pram, wheelchair or walker.
A total of 87 Variobahns currently belong to the BOGESTRA fleet. The first 30 vehicles were delivered between 2008 and 2011 (railcars 501-530). In the years 2013-2015, a further 15 Vario trains were delivered (option delivery of railcars 531-545). In 2015, 42 more Variobahns were ordered. They were delivered from 2016-2020 (railcars 101-142). They replaced low-floor trams from the 1990s. Eight additional vehicles (option delivery) are currently being manufactured. When they are all delivered, the BOGESTRA Variobahn fleet will consist of 95 vehicles. These are consistently (100 percent) low-floor. At the request of passengers, ticket sales have been reintroduced from the drivers on these railways.
Since 2008, the tracks have been further improved. Based on customer feedback, for example, the seating arrangement was adjusted or comfort seats were introduced. The vehicles were equipped with a rail head wetting system and are gradually being fitted with the new BO011 wheel system. In addition, the trains of the 500 series were retrofitted with passenger information monitors.
Tram: the oldies
The historical trams, which are regularly used in the BOGESTRA operating area, are owned by the Transport History Working Group BOGESTRA e.V. (VhAG BOGESTRA).
