Yeah I think the gentleman misunderstood because there are most definitely places in DR with “Pozos” or wells. They also have some homes with Tinacos, which are the tanks on top of some homes and of course the cisternas. When I was younger if we ran out of water at our home in DR we would go out with empty bottles and fill up somewhere else. We also had tanks that we would fill up when the water was flowing. The water would come and go at certain times. Thank you for sharing your journey with others so that they can see a glimpse of daily living in DR. Peace and blessings to you😁
In spanish a water well is called "un pozo"...in the countryside where my home is I dug it and connected my water system to it and got me a sumersible pump and a solar water heater because my kids dont like to take cold showers 🤣
Gotta learn Spanish bruh. It's key to communicating there. I have a dominican friend in Santo Domingo he said they have wells I believe. It probably varies neighborhood to neighborhood. Glad to see brothers making that move. Enjoy yourself.
Cisterns are widely used as a backup, but I never heard of being the only water supplier to a house. You should look into chemicals that are used to kill any pathogens in the water. All kind of stuff can grow in there
It rains often in DR, have you thought about having a roof water collection system installed? Provided that you have a filter in place to filter the water.
