My first trip at the Leyland National 51 event was onboard this Merseyside PTE Leyland National Mk2, from the park and ride site into Whitehaven. 6036 was new in 1980 to Merseyside PTE and is preserved in this guise with Merseyside Transport logos.

With the exception of the front grill, it looks and sounds like a mk1 without it's pod.

The LN2s that are fitted with an L11 engine sound quite like a Mk1; for a true Mk2 sound I think it's either a 680 or a Gardner 6HLXB for me.

@@SirAdamUK yes, st.helens LN2's sincere like the Bristol LH's we had and I think I read somewhere that many LN2's had Bristol engines, Bristol being part of NBC. I couldn't tell you engine types, my knowledge ends at manufacturer lol. But I did like the roar of the at.helens LN2.

@@jimmyvlogit1899 Bristol (manufacturer) buses would've had Bristol engines, often for Bristol (operator). Leyland Nationals weren't offered with Bristol engines.
