My advice: come again to the village, and try to find the oldest person there and all people of the same generation with your grandma. Usually, this will be more effective way for you to find somebody in the past rather than asking the village officials.
Agree! Do not give up. Your families are out there but you need to come back again and find your grandparents age group cos they are close knit communities. You will find them.
One great thing you should know that Indonesian people are very kind, friendlies, helpful even though there's language barrier, they won't turn you down. I hope you will succeed in your search.
Indonesia's weakness in the past was documentation, it was in the system but it wasn't necessarily correct or not updated... I hope you find your family, you are a little lucky because there are adoption documents because many don't have adoption documents
I really appreciated that, don’t lose hope, it’s reminded me my oma brother’s and sister’s come to Indonesia from Netherland to find their big sister (my oma) long story but before my great grandpa died he told their kids that they’ve big sister in Indonesia but just knew about address and old name (Netherland name) before adopted, and because we already move, their asked our neighbors and looking for other clue till their find us, now we got reunited, every year they’re coming to Indonesia, and I just knew that I have a lot of families, we become a big family and it’s feel so overwhelming 🥰 I hope you guys get the same thing like us 😇😇
I am touched by your search for your biological family. I hope you can find it soon. So far you haven't found it, but at least you've found many friends throughout your search
semoga kebahagiaan selalu menyertaimu, dimana pun kamu berada. Aamiin...❤❤❤ setidaknya kamu menemukan saudara baru & orang orang solo menerima kamu dengan tangan terbuka. semoga Tuhan mudahkan perjalananmu mencari keluarga ibundamu.Aamiin❤❤❤
Javanese names don’t have surnames, so it’s difficult to trace. Indonesia is still struggling to make computerized administration, and many data were lost due to certain reasons. Thumbs up to your patience, and I wish you could find some members of your family. Amen.
Nama-nama keluarga Ibu anda. Semoga berhasil jangan berhenti mencarinya👍👍👍
❤️ it was indeed🙂. Unfortunately we had to move on again. Hopefully it will be possible to fly my mom over next year to continue the search. Though Tory is still helping out in the mean time spreading a video where we tell our story and asking if someone maybe knows more about my mom. And we made some flyers to spread around in the village 🤞 thanks so much for your support Connie 🙂
Besides the absence of surnames, I am sure you are also having a problem with the spelling system. Like in the past, the letter "J" was read "Y" so the name "Sajem" in the past could have been actually read "Sayem" and the younger generation may not realize it and consider it in the search... Welcome to Solo, I wished you could stay longer and find your birth family.. My best wishes for you and your lovely Mom.
Zeker jammer 😕 maar as you say the locals have been great to us and in a way we did find lovely family 🥰 I’m very grateful of your support and glad you’re believing in this channel 😊 cheers!
GBU...
Since you find the village…you might as well check the cemetery since Indonesians don’t go by their last name you can read on the tombstone the first name of the deceased and the first name of the father ex: Budi bin Ali for man or Nana binti Ali for lady…wish you all the luck
This was like a really well made, and emotional, documentary. Good job, Chai and Ilona. I'll tell you what you tell us, "Stay Champ, amigo!" I added the "amigo" 555. Best wishes.
Thank mate! We worked hard for this one and I’m pleased to hear you enjoyed it 🤗 unfortunately no biological family but we met some wonderful people ❤️ thanks a lot and stay champ… Amigo! I love it!
Masya Allah terharu, I hope you can find and meet your mother's family. 65 years is so a long time, can we say to late to find it, it because the datas maybe lost. But Allah SWT will help you .
Congratulation.. now you have very warm family...your kids very lucky have Indonesian family..come back for holiday in this beautiful country and the best food
just try to asking the elders in the village SAYEM otherwise SAJEM. because the pronunciation in the past for J is Y. it's because EYD (Ejaan Yang Disempurnakan)
This reminds me the story of a Dutch citizen in BBC, name Andre Kuik, about how he took years to found his Indonesian bioligical mother in Indonesia. I think people need to create a foundation, or some kind of help for Dutch people who want to find their biological family in Indonesia.
Great video Chai, feels like you got soooo close buddy. Really rooting for you man 🤞🤞 I guess give the situation too it might be difficult for people to admit to it too even if located them so the DNA idea might prove very useful. Best of luck man 🤞👍
❤❤❤❤❤ kami org indonesia selalu berdoa semoga berhasil. 💪💪
Wow I really thought you had struck gold there Chai. Gripping story as it unfolded and well worthy of going viral just like Jeannette and Sulai's did on Koh Lanta. So disappointed at the outcome but you found many friends in the process which was lovely to see. Maybe some other leads might surface in time. Great video. Cheers champs 🤩
That’s nice of you Steven :) I’m pretty proud of what we made haha 😁 and I’m glad you think it’s viral worthy 😃 like I said I feel we will be back again. To be continued 🏆 cheers mate. Happy Sunday
This video has got plenty of energy ticking over like a taxi meter so others clearly agree champ. 😂Now all we need is some sort of a breakthrough with information to help you find those roots and create another blockbuster :) @@Chai_Travel
There’s more to this Chai and I’m sure you know that! Us watching are all intrigued and thanks for taking us on the journey. PS how cool is Tory I’m sure you’re very grateful to him. Stay Champ
A little advice for you. Maybe you can give a photo of your mother to the village office so that someone can see the resemblance to one of the village residents
Very touching and important video, really also valuable for many poeple in the same situation. You have a wonderful mother, she is strong and supported you really fantastic. Great Chai, your journey is so important , much appreciated you showed it, Thanks a lot for that 🙏❤🏆Ilona is such a lovely help !✌👍...my big compliments for all your researche together
Thank you Fioretta 🤗 a lot of people are in a similar situation indeed. Hopefully we find family in the future but anyway we found some beautiful people 🥰 thanks for being part of this journey 🤗
Semangat terus Bro... Semangat dan berdo'a selalu...
In 1930, Dutch moved my family (from my Mom) from Wonogiri, close to Solo to Sumatra island. And in 1995, I went to a college in Solo. My uncle who was with me, he tried to find my family root but he didn’t succesful. He concluded that probably the village already drowned in the water.
Thanks for your message 🙏 a lot of things has changed. I wouldn’t be surprised that actually happened. We don’t give up yet but maybe we have to at some stage 🙏
@@Chai_Travel just don’t give up. If your family from Ngemplak, Sukoharjo, you have a big chance to find them. Because I also found my family root from my father. They’re from Boyolali, and I met them in 1996. My father’s family was moved by Dutch in 1938. My Mom’s family is nowhere to be found because the area now is a huge water reservoir.
Courage Chai, don't give up! I'm married to an Indonesian (betawi) woman and I know a little bit of Indonesia since I've lived and worked therer for a while. Your search is clearly complicated but I think you have to meet all kakek and neneh of all kampungs around Solo to find who you are looking for. Semangat!
Semoga segera bertemu keluarga anda . sulit menemukan orang jawa, karena orang jawa tidak punya marga ,mungkin hanya suku jawa keturunan Ningrat ( kerajaan ) yang punya marga, Tetap srmangat jangan menyerah ✊🏽✊🏽
Your determination is amazing in tracing your origins..I hope you enjoy Solo..Btw I'm from Solo and UNS is my campus..Hope you enjoy my small hometown..
Sorry to see you weren’t successful this time. I’m sure you will be in the future 🤞. I have to say you are a great film maker and always enjoy watching your videos. Stay Champ💪🏆
just be patient and fight hard for the love your mother and the rest of your entire family on the island of java it's not easy as long as you're sure with prayer ...good luck
We have no grudges against the Dutch or Japanese who once colonized us. welcome to Indonesia and enjoy our culture. the most special country on earth. I hope you are happy in Indonesia. you are safe.
Greetings from Durban Kwa-Zulu KwaZulu-Natal South Africa. I actually feel sad but I'm certain U will find family Wishing U every success in your search God Bless
Fyi, Even though your mother grew up in Solo, it doesn't necessarily mean she was born in Solo. because usually orphanages care for children who can come from anywhere not only from solo
Yes you are right Solo is a developed city, in fact it is a classic city with deep historical story. This is a city where the Kingdom of Surakarta Hadiningrat is located. During the dutch era the Kingdom had a close relation with the dutch indies goverment.
