🇮🇳 Do you like spicy food? If not then stay away from this fish curry thali I ate in North East India. Watch and see if I could handle that spice or not...🔥
Mr. Bald, you are making India look better than the Indian tourism administration. This channel is proof that personality is more important than slick editing or intros and whatnot.
Cheers bro. Intros and stuff is just used to cover up the fact that nothing interesting is gonna happen in the video in my opinion. If I see an intro I switch off.
@@baldandbankrupt I love your channel and the simplicity but that doesn't make sense at all, there's not just one right way. If putting time and effort into a video makes a video uninteresting... Well, that's just an interesting opinion to me.
The owner lady was very considerate even though she didn't speak in English, she was saying, "would you like seperate bowls for that? " And "Give him a spoon".
Okay here are the items you had.... All ethnic cuisines in Manipur/Kangleipak: 1. The first fish Curry is called Nga Atoiba(Fish Stew) 2. The big chick of fish is another dish made with deep fried fish in light gravy (Nga Matum Thongba) 3.The Dal like dish is called Ooti(Pease stew) 4. The Chutney is Mustard and Chilly sauce. 5. The baby shrimps also Classic called Khajing fried with Chives. 6. The spicy salad is called Singjoo.. Vegetables with dry fish and some. Ghost Chilli(Umorok) 7. The dark and browny item is fish Gizzard with vegetables (Ngarinkha Ngouba) 8. The slimy item besides Ooti is Assorted vegetable Stew.
What's the big deal . . I eat with spoon . . It's not that m trying to show manners or immitate western culture It's my preference n even our forefathers use wooden spoon to eat not all but some
that spiciness is normal here. People even take raw chilli while eating to add the hotness 😂😂 2:59 that is 'uti' made with beans mostly with baking soda 3:19 with the shrimps that is 'kangou' means fried with oil 3:39 that is 'nga ataoba' nga means fish in Manipuri and that is a fried fish being cooked again 3:58 that is 'makok maru ngouba' means fried fish head with potatoes and others 5:28 that is 'singju' mixed vegetables with many spices, there are different types of it and its like an evening snack here. Hope it makes a littile more understansable. Hello Cindy
Eating fish with spoon and also talking with a camera. And u don't get a fish bone in the throat.. That's legend man. Even as a manipuri I won't be able to do that.
That's so costly. $20 in indian currency will be around Rs.1150 and.. some people here work for a month on a salary of Rs 3000..Those working in private sector in such hotels will not be earn more than that..
@@avotokezo8618 it’s crazy... You are very correct... And rent here in vancouver on average costs $1600 CAD for a 1 bedroom apartment around 500 sqf space. Car insurance for average sedan per month is $400 CAD. The only thing that is cheap here, in terms essentials, is the water and electricity. Even our gas is, if not for COVID-19, hitting close to $2 CAD per litre. And our property tax is even crazier. And the current minimum wage is only around $14 CAD a hour.
We from developing and third world countries assume how wonderful to live in the country like yours. But I think people living in my country a middle class won't never survive out there. Will never imagine how hard poor people living there.
1 bhk house rent in metro cities here is between 15k/20k which in your currency will be around 300 dollars. But in smaller towns and cities it will be just around 90/80 dollars in your currency. Here we have petrol and price Rs 87 per litre... If you are earning a salary of Rs 50000 a monthly which will be 900 dollars approximate in your money .. thats a good salary here and you can live comfortable life..
Dang! I wish we had a restaurant like that near me. I have to make Indian food myself and I know its not authentic. American food is sooo boring sometimes. Great video, brother. See you on the next one. Jai bhole Ki! Jai Bharat! Sat Sri Akaal!
Go to any Manipuri Thali store. If you get inside that store.Well, you know what? There's only rice to eat. That's what they serve. You stupid fuck. You do that in your country mate? You serve all your dishes when a foreigner comes? Lmao .
30+ years ago I had banana leaf curry in Thailand, only it was on a dirt floor on mats, and the leaves weren’t trimmed on top of plates. Not quite as many dishes, but more food. A memorable meal for sure!
Mr. Bald, I went through some of your videos, Golden Temple, Varanasi etc. never liked or subscribed cause I see hundred other videos like that by westerners. Those are common tourist places. But after this video, I couldn't stop myself subscribing your channel. You went to Manipur. Shows your dedication. I would love to see more of NorthEast India through your lens. With Love.
And then after you have eaten your meal, you can use the leaf to wipe your arse. Just make sure you use the other side of it that hadn't had the spicy food on it...
@@justlivinglife6620 It's not uncommon to have 9 or 10 shits a day in India, even for the locals. Tourists can expect anywhere from 15-20 trips to the bathroom each day... on a 'good day'.
I'd hate to see the food you typically eat lol. That food looks as though it had already been eaten and rejected from another person's digestive tract.
I remember having a friemd from Cote D'Ivoire or Ivory Cost making a fish curry for supper but the fish came whole with even the scales and gills and guts inside but it was amazing!
Hey I am from manipur. The most spicy thing you had is called "Singju". Its a vegetable salad-type dish which is mostly spicy. Been following your videos lately, really liked it when you made about Manipur.
The concept of thali in India is that it is unlimited- you can order more of what you like. Almost each state in India has a local version of thali. It can start as low as 1$ and go up to 70$ in a 7 star hotel
I dont know how I land up on this video but this is the restaurant where I usually go with my family when we visit Imphal and Imphal is like 50 kms from my home. I so miss the food esp now that im stuck somewhere far from home due to this Covid pandemic. I hope I get to go back home soon and enjoy that thali again.
Man this reminds me of visiting a kumpong in Indonesia, where they had some sort of fish and rise curry thing in a bananna leaf that they char grilled in the coals of an open fire. One of the best bloody things I've tasted.
YES! My sister and me enjoyed watching this food video a lot! We hope to see more like this because every new meal you eat is easy footage for a new video!
YES , ALL people of the world no matter what race/culture/country have ONE common thing , everyone must eat to stay alive (exept supermodels, they do fine with cocaine :)) but rest of the world must eat and its very intersting to see how local people eat .
oh man when u died from towards the end was priceless. i am a head chef by trade and i saw that coming from the start. love the vids watch every day . cheers
Love this guys vids. Best travel docs / blogs on youtube by a long shot. That said, I heard a terrible story about him. I can only hope it's not true. keep travelling!
@Shin chan Well i dont know how would that afect a filipino's lifestyle but surley you can get all tipes of rices wherever you are from. Also I think indian rice dishes are delicious and have lots of spices wherea I havent heard anything from east asian rice cuisine.
Am glad you could enjoy the food from my homeland... Honestly, the heat was the least as its serve in hotel... Please do try the Naga and Kuki foods too...
Unique things about Northeast and it's food--- 1) Mostly we eat fried or burnt food. 2) Curry's here will not have that reddish look because of less spices but less spices doesn't mean they are not hot (remember). 3) In villages people drink homemade rice wine. 4) PORK meat is the most popular dish here 🤤🤤🤤. 5) Northeastern food will keep you healthy. 6) It's a women dominated society here 😁😅.. You will see women farming, selling stuffs, working in Army and police, and also chilling. There is no history of discrimination against women here. The safest place for women in INDIA. 7) Assam is home to one horned rhinoceros in the World. 8) Meghalaya (the land of clouds) gets the highest rainfall in the world. It's the greenest part of the country. Northeasterners are nicknamed as HIGHLANDERS. 9) People here are way to innocent and naive like most tribal people are but never dare to stir up the tribal blood 😅😅😂😂. 10) Do visit Kaziranga national park.
@@UKGX4 Wealth is not all that matter he has good character which you can see from his videos. From the US but his videos are interesting and entertaining.
@@baldandbankrupt I can't belive you replied haha, I choose that name just for fun I love Ainsley, also you make me wanna visit India with the hope to meet you there and kindly interrupt your vlog haha. Keep it up I am so jealous of your adventures 😊😄😄
What an amazing looking meal ....heck beats any fast food you would find in Australia 🇦🇺. Thanks for going on this epic meal journey to help us see the food and lifestyle of people from around the world.
When i was in sri lanka i ate a similar dish that they all just call rice and curry it was rice in the middle of the plate with all sorts of chutneys and vegetables all around it
So glad that you are in my hometown Mr. Bald!! Yes, the people here are really nice, respectful and always have a pretty good level of hospitality if you could notice more. Must visits: Kangla Palace (0 km), Imphal War Cemetery aka British War Memorial (3 km), Japan war memorial (20km), Loktak lake and Keibul Lamjao National Park -floating park on the loktak lake (52km) and many many more... Cheers mate!!
