Some tips for both of you the fastest way to learn the language either tagalog/english/bisaya is to speak more often to them, don't worry if you cant speak english very well, it's a matter of learning, and people will also adjust and help you along the way :) no need to be afraid of misunderstanding :) I tell you it works every time :)

I know you're trying to study english and I think that's good.👍🏻 Maybe you could also look for a tutor to teach you english. Or maybe you can try to do what RM of BTS did. He said that he learned to speak english by watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S . I'm Filipino and even before I started going to school, I already understood the language. And I could speak it too. I learned from watching Sesame Street.😄 So try watching an english program so you can learn more and practice. 🫰🏻🫰🏻

You have only been in the Philippines for a little over a year. Give yourselves time. Try to learn English first before trying to learn their dialect. Filipinos are very understanding & are very willing to help. So if you need help, just approach anybody & tell them you need help. It will all work out in the end especially after Oliver & Lynn learn the basics from school. Younger people learn faster. Don't be discouraged. Just keep on blogging. It's nice to see our country through your eyes. Some of us who live elsewhere like the US, Canada, Australia, etc have not seen some parts of the Philippines so we welcome those who show us around thru their vlogs. The best solution in to your problem about to communicate to the Filipino locals. You should learn how to speak in Tagalog. Because our national language is Tagalog, that's why where ever you are in every province in the Philippines if you to talk the locals if you speak them in Tagalog they response you immediately if you want to ask or if you want to talk about problem. It's 100% effective to solve your problem to communicate to the locals.

I used earplugs when I was at my grandma's place for couple months for vacation and the chicken is also so loud, I mean like nonstop every day. The earplugs actually work pretty good. Also, I'm currently living in U.S California and one of your subscribers for a while now and yes, we do misses Philippines especially the foods. Couple reasons I subs. One is that you guys are awesome family, two you guys love my country and enjoying supporting it so might as well we do the same. Thank you loving our country and supporting it.

I cant imagine the hardship there must be for starting over again in a country where the language is completely different. With that said, if you want to communicate with someone, 9 out of 10 times that person will make great efforts to understand you. You learning english is like us trying to learn korean, it won't be easy so don't worry..You can start with single english words combined with gestures and i'm pretty sure filipinos would try to figure out what you're trying to say..

No need to be scared. That's fine if you make mistake in speaking in english. You can communicate via body language if you cannot express yourself in english. When I went to Korea to visit, I only knew how to say hello, sorry, and thank you hehe. But other than that, I use body language to talk with somebody if I cannot express freely. Also, those people that will approach you in the street will never talk anything serious about there lives. They will just say hi to you. So no need to worry about that 😊. It's fine that you cannot speak English well, some Filipinos cannot speak English well but they're trying and they're not afraid to make mistake, they will just laugh at it hehehe.

i think google translator is a good way to translate by typing (accuracy-wise) especially for language like Hangeul. Hangeul to English. Filipino is not that accurate in Google Translate but languages like Hangeul are. because of our nature/environment, clear sky, sun and all, it makes us happy or jolly people. one of many reasons.
