Hi folks, NatNomad here. An ex-Buddhist monk from Laos with a big dream of seeing the world. Throughout my time for over 10 years being a monk I kept asking myself this one question "What life is like out there beyond the monastery?" And because of this question alone made me take a big step in 2014 when I finally say goodbye to my wonderful monastic life.
And now I'm doing what I've always wanted to do. Though I am not quite sure if I can say that I'm living my dream but you know what I'm loving my new adventure.

I noticed that you love spicy foods, make it easy to in Laos and Thailand. My family went to Thailand and Laos last December we love the food , but none of us can handle spicy well 😂

Yep, the spicier the better. Though, I do get a stomachache from time to time from having too much chili haha. But it is so good.

I think the very essence of travel in Laos is to allow yourself to just wander and get lost. Go to small towns, explore through dirt roads, try something tasty and spicy from stalls! Those were my most memorable moments in Laos and to me, they make the experience oh so special! Great video as usual, Nat!

Sabaidee, unfortunately, I left yesterday back to Luang Prabang. It was a rush trip. But I'm so glad I stopped by. I really enjoyed my t two days exploring the area. The nature around Thakhek is stunning. When I come back next time, I'll keep you posted. I still wanna do the Thakhek Loop.

Thakhek looks like another charming city, very easy to travel and not overwhelmingly crowded. That papaya salad looked delicious 😋 I heard eating spicy foods when the weather is hot will help cool you down. I hope that's true. 😅🙏 ❤

Yes, Thakhek really surprises me in a good way. especially the scenery around it. I didn't expect that. Really enjoyed it here. In Lao, what we called it "ແກ້ເຜັດ" when it's already hot but instead of having something sweet, we kind of add more spice in it to make it even hotter. Which in most cases it helps because the new hot can overpower what you're handling lol. But nice cold drink always help

Thank you very much for the compliment about my English. I'm flattered. I was very lucky because back in the day when I was a monk, there was an American guy who came to Luang Prabang. He fell in love with the place, and later on, he set up a free class in my temple. And that's where I picked my accent from. Thanks for following my adventures🙂🙏

Very similar to Lao word. I think it's from Sanskrit. In Lao we called it Nak

Most cities in Laos look empty, except Vientiane. I heard most young people go to work in Thailand.

Yes, sadly, all young workers are flowing out of the country. And it's counting. When I went to villages in the north, I was surprised how many people from such a very small community have gone to Thailand for work.
