Hi Scott, Ana the rice farmer from Alangalang, wants to know what's the brand name of your backpack. She wants to buy one just like it. Cheers Mate! 🤠🍻👍🏻
Scotty Boy. It looks like you are on an endless quest through the Philippines to find something. What that something is, I have no idea. I'm getting dizzy from watching you travel all around the Philippines like a chicken with your head cut off. Lol!!! I like the videos when you're sitting at a bar all day streaming or recording people going by.
@@jimalvir5866 Yes. He's constantly on the run. Like he's trying to run away from the law. Maybe Scotty Boy is really an internationally wanted criminal. Lol!!!
As sort of a WW II buff, one of the first recreational books read in high school was "The battle of Leyte Gulf". Now, we can see exactly the area for which it was fought. Beautiful area.
16:41 -- You sure do know how to pick them! LOL I doubt very seriously his parents named him, "Janella!" Reminds me of your other friend, on another one of your trips. "Romar" I think his, er, her name was!
15:43 I discovered Lanzones on Bohol a yr and a half ago @ 180p/kg and became my favorite fruit I’m guessing Leyte is getting the same Camaguin variety and I’d be all over them, especially @ 100p. Reminds me, in Davao you can get their varieties for just 50p/ kg! 16:06 Roy, I think old SB complimented Janella to help shut up his friends who were teasing him for speaking English and with a foreigner. I could be wrong but I doubt it.
Scotty, that meal looked delicious. By the way, I’ve been watching you from the beginning & your videos have only gotten better. Keep enjoying the adventure!
Scotty Boy: I like the way you do your restaurant and hotel reviews. A few well chosen words gets the point across without being nasty. You are a diplomat.
@@vicvac3920 yeah I can’t think of any other reason. Super weird cuz he gets a lot of money from the buy me a coffee app and videos are doing good views wise. He starves himself all day then eats brownies then cries about having mental issues like dude why don’t you eat healthy?
@@Regular_Guyph it’s not hard, you live in one of the best places for clean wild caught sea food loaded with minerals and fat soluble vitamins that regulate healthy brain function. I’d kill to have access to wild caught fish from decently clean waters, they are literally killing us here in the USA.
I like your approach to this series. Letting us know clearly where you are and if you would want to retire there. Your answer at the end was good for a chuckle. 😅
What’s best practice traveling with enough cash to have a good time but. But not so much you’re at risk. I’m not a budget traveler, but I’m not reckless either. Headed to Leyte area in a few month’s.
Hi 👋 BROROONIE. Looks like a quiet sleepy town. Hotel girls are cute 🥰. Ladyboy had the HOTTS for you I think 🤔 Soon you will travel in style on your own. Safe travels 🙏. Hope to catch your next livestream 👍. Blessings 🙏🌸🌺🌼
Now that was the absolute best laugh I have had in several years😂😂😂. A pure "Larry David" moment: "You're a good girl!" Who in their right mind would say that? Scotty boy, that's who, the Larry David of the Philippines vloggers!! Redo that as a short and it will get a million views. 😂😂 One other bit of advice, forget "the good girl" and hightail it back to "the farm girl," wake up Scotty!!!
yeah, everything in one backpack scott, you got things right on. you have your two arms free at the same time. i like to have a smaller backpack to use when i've settled in somewhere. i take all my essentials in the smaller backpack for day to day travelling. things like hand wash, wet wipes, tissues, insect repellent, sunscreen, etc.
3 bdr 2 bath townhouse can be rented for 10k a month in Palompon. The cinema in Robinson's in Ormoc is very modern and good theater. 250 pesos for a movie, popcorn cheap
what happened regularly guy? I am anticipating your next vlog because you said you are going to Naval. I am from that town, my partner says maybe my hometown is dangerous 😂 thinking you might've been kidnapped there😂
I love Ormoc, I was there in December for four days. I go there every time I'm in the Philippines to see my fiancée family. They come in from the island of Poro in the Comotes Islands. We stay at Fans Hotel because it has the biggest hotel room in Ormoc, it's a big two bedroom suite and I can fit her family of four in there plus us and we have or own room with a really nice queen bed as good as a Marriot bed. Definitely hit the big outdoor market next to the port.
The screeching metal gate is the perfect sound for the beginning of a horror hotel scene. The town seems smaller and quiet, people riding bikes instead of all on scooters
I love your channel started following you. I love the way I can learn about the Philippines everywhere on your Channel thank you for doing what you're doing I hope one day to run into you in the Philippines lol
Travelling with just a backpack is great. Spent all of July 2022 travelling around the Philippines with my Osprey Farpoint 40. It's carry on size but also converts into a duffle back so you don't need to worry about the straps when not needed. Only hard thing was keeping my crap to under 7.5kg for carry on when taking flights. I now take a bag for checked luggage as well to deal with liquids and stuff but still love my Opsrey. Also have Opsprey day pack which can fold up and fit in your pocket as well as my Osprey Stratos which I only use for hiking here in Oz.
Scott maybe you might consider staying in one location for a while even if just a month, instead of bouncing around day to day. You could maybe even meet a woman if you stayed someplace longer than a day or two. Not sure how you are handling all the travel ?. I traveled for 2 months riding my motorcycle though the Philippines and it was not easy and after a while it took a toll on me. I hope the constant travel does not wear you down.
Palompon is great...It has one major street...I like the Krispy King Hey man the Pensioner Hotel there..Like 8 stories has a great rooftop view.. The ppl are really nice in that town..Kalamggaman Island is right off shore about 30 mins..National Treasure..
Getting withdrawal symptoms waiting for new videos Scottie 😊😊 When do you reckon you'll be off on your new motorbike? Particularly looking forward to more LUZON content..
Approx 40 miles from Ormoc to Naval. You should be there in maybe an hour or so... well, it's the Philippines. How long will it actually take? Thanks for going through all these travel challenges and making videos of it. Helps me in my confidence if I can get to the Phils myself. I would love to visit Ormoc and numerous small towns. Your channel is great! I enjoy watching your videos. Best of luck to you.
I was in Tacloban, (not far away weatherwise) in an October. I would describe the heat as BLISTERINGLY INTENSE, at times. Like being hit with a thousand little darts of pain.
Scotty, I give you credit, your acceptance of hotel rooms, and their many degrees of cleanliness is something I would have issues with and I'm also in philly.
One thing that is very noticeable is people live their lives in this country and actually see the world around them. In the U.S. you'd just have videos of people walking/driving around head down with their heads glued to their phones.
Scotty. You are the master of cheap but quality hotels. Ya gotta post your best hotel picks. Does your new backpack have a waste belt. Really helps with weight distribution. I know your pack is heavy. I bet you regret not buying a quality used ADV bike. You would have been riding for weeks already. I'm starting to get motion sickness watching your video style. Couldn't you have found out the bus route much earlier. I know you're spontaneous but you really cost yourself some time. Keep it up Scotty. Scooter time will be very interesting.
Nice! I have that camera. It's easy to use and more importantly fun to use. The image quality is good enough, as long as it's not super dark outside. It looks a lot better than the X3 in my opinion. I had the X3 camera before too. Lol😊
I would love to be able to do all this and come to the Philippines. I've had a Filipino nurse tell me you really should go You really should go every day I get up and I instantly get on my TV Look at your RU-vid for regular guy. Seems like you're getting pretty famous over there
What's the hold up with the scooter? Is it faster to buy a used one or does it still take a long time to do all the registration and licensing stuff? Seems to me that Leyte would be ideal for exploring on a scooter.
Scottie, great vid! I know you like the exercise of walking around trying to spot eateries by sight and it’s good for the vlog. Congrats on your recent increase in subs good man! Just a suggestion but I’d just pick the best rating on google maps and at least know where I was heading to for food I wanna eat. Over 30 eateries or restaurants listed there. Is the problem that many listings are closed down and nobody told the old googleroonie? I s’pose it takes the adventure out of it and asking locals where they are is a good excuse to meet them. You remind me of a pin ball bouncing around randomly but I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that. Let’s hope you get the top score or the odd free game.
Hey Scotty. Can you do more vids of Ormoc? Whoever told you that Palompon was nice - you should block them, lol. What a real dump. Thank you for alerting us, Scotty.
Amazing! I watched the video you took in Palompon. I stayed in the exact same room as you for 2 weeks during Dec 2022. I came to visit a girl who goes to the Marine University near the Palompon Lodge. You should have visited the university campus. It has 5000 students and many beautiful girls. Palompon rolls up the streets about 7:30 every night and there is absolutely no activity after that. Very boring town. I could never live there. Robert Strange Angeles City resident for almost 5 years.
Scottie, Was that an Andok's Chicken at the bus terminal? I saw yellow & red colors... Andok's is the absolute best rotisserie chicken with the wood smoke flavor...
Hey Scooty, How many miles a day you think you walk. You deal with the heat like a champ. How long it take you to acclimate? Nice t9 see you finally bought a scooter. It’s official, you Scooty now, my good man.
1:23 I've been here since early December.. I would guess there are about 1000 foreigners living within 15km of Ormoc.. but I do agree that they aren't the overly friendly type,, most doing their own thing...
I have seen several of your videos where you reference no toilet seat. Is this a common theme in PH hotels? Do you know why the toilet seats are missing?
My filipina wife is from Palompon and she told me a lot of restaurants closed down there because if the mayor doesn’t get your support he won’t allow you to run your business.Corruption at its finest regular guy! We go to to this area last 4 years straight and if your trying to go to Kalanggaman island it’s hit or miss due to weather allowing you the trip. Otherwise it’s an amazing place to visit!
Scotty, you should have let us know the cost of your food at the Mexican Restaurant. I think you were just to hungry from all that walking from taking bad direction advice that you totally forgot about it. It did look really tasty though. Too bad you have to backtrack to get to Naval. C'est La Vie!! See you in the next one. Hopefully you will find some Babe-a-Roonies there.
Ormoc is the Pineapple Capital of Leyte..its about 1 1/2 hours to palompon..I like Palompon Better. Check out the only pension house in Palompon with a roof deck..yiu can see everything You can almost see Poro in the Camotes
thanks for showing us around .. would be nice to get the backstory a bit on foreigners that you meet and show in your videos .. i think viewers are often curious about other westerners stories
This video highlights the challenges Westerners face if they choose to live or even travel in PH. Food is the biggest problem. Next is entertainment. Did you see any pubs, bars? (That can be a good thing or a bad thing) Things can get boring.
Palompon lodge sucks!! I booked there. They promised a lot online and when I got there nothing was like they said. They ended up moving us to Sugar Inn because I was very dissatisfied. Sugar Inn is a much much better place if you ever stay there in palompon again. Good luck finding a restaurant.
Very nice SB, and if you a chance to date Jho, I would not let that chance go by and I assume the main reason you are in Leyte. And a great reason to be there as well as other things!!
