As a Swede it's interesting how some of these songs are classics in Sweden, but some are just forgotten about. If you don't count winning songs, 1983 - Främling , 1993 - Eloise and 1988 - Stad i ljus have become a part of Swedish culture.
perhaps the most successful single female... UNTIL Loreen, though Carola did have 3 appearances. As far as I can tell, Marco Mengoni is 2nd only to Johnny Logan in success for males (4th, 7th)
FUN FACT.. both Carola in 1983 and The Herreys in 1984 were highly religious persons [Carola has raised a few eyebrows at how outspoken she is - but has still behaved properly]. As a native of Utah I know that Herreys are actually MORMON of all things... Earliest Mormon missionary work was in British Isles and Scandinavia... it's the reason my Great Grandmother from near the city of Linkoping emigrated to the states and ended up here in Utah.
Yes! Except for the 50' & 60' and 00' Sweden has been winning once (or twice) every decade. Of course I hope for this decade to. Maybe this year - because of Loreen beeing divine - or later on. Ps. Love some of the 60' entries!!!!

yeah I put "breasts like swallows..." right up there with "love me with luscious thighs" when it come to inappropriate lyrics. But of course Citi Zeni set the absolute lowest bar EVER with that horrifically offensive and demeaning ".. I eat veggies and *****, I Like them fresh I like them both juicy". Take out all the blatantly sexual lyrics and it was a great number. Sigh.

After being an avid fan since 1975 I'm afraid every year it gets more and more dare I say...... 'Cringe'... And every year there is always something to bitch about.. This year was no exception hey.. So sad 🎶💕
In 2010.. Anna Bergendahl. There was a massive anti Anna Bergendahl and Sweden campaign going on among the Eurovision fans, because of rumours and smear campaign started by then the official spokesperson of the Eurovision fan club. This is why I stopped blogging about Eurovision at the time. She would probably have survived the semis if not.
Older eurovisions had heart and nobody laughed or cringed at them, maybe at dances and style in 80s but still Miss those years where even 0 points gave emotions and was strong, even if look at eurovision world ratings, most of the songs had 4,5 stars and more, not like generic cheap pop nowdays
Sweden always have good entries but I feel after Heroes the songs are more or less the same, pop songs that you hear every day. I would like to hear something different from them. ABBA was the most iconic winner ever in my opinion they had so much international success after that.
