Karsu lost 16 members of the family in the earthquake. Some lost 20 family members. Many children were orphaned. God give patience. Karsu experienced her pain and at the same time collected aid in the Netherlands. Thank you very much to her.

Dear Cojak, thank you so much for your reaction and support to us. Karsu is worldwide known Turkish artist lives in Netherlands, she is originally from Hatay Province, Karsu village. Her parents put their village's name to her, it is her real name not a stage name. She have lost many of her relatives in the earthquake. She already done so much for the victims from Netherlands, collected around 89 Mio EUR and send couple of aid trucks to the affected region. She is holding so much emotions inside, . It is highly emotional both for her and us.

This song is Neşet Ertaş’s song who was a Turkish folk music singer and composer. We call them Aşık. Aşık means a person who is in love. We believe that they sing and compose from their hearts. Most of them do not have musical education. It is like a tradition with which masters raise students to be Aşıks but very few of them can be. It is believed that a sacred person comes to them in their dreams and drinks them a beverage called Bade. After that you become an Aşık.

Açıklamalarınız çok güzel, teşekkürler. Bir nokta da şunu eklemek isterim. Müzik eğitimleri yok demek fazla sert bence. Okullu değil "alaylı" diye tabiri daha uygun sanki. Usta çırak ilişkisi ile kendi doğal yeteneklerini geliştirirler ve belli bir olgunluktan sonra da kendi başlarına yani tek olarak ortaya çıkarlar. Bu insanın özünde varsa (merak, ilgi, yatkınlık, eğilim vb.) olabilecek bir şeydir neticede. Sanırım bu gelenek Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu'nun kuşağıyla son buldu.

She lost several family members in the earthquake(About 20).The village she is named after is ruined. She choose this song because she found a vocemail massage on her phone off her cousin who was looking for her after her last concert in TURKEY. The massage said "where are you" and since her cousin was one of the victims you understand the emotion.

The lyrics and music of the song belong to Neşet Ertaş. Ertaş is the top name of traditional Turkish Folk Music. It can even be called the last representative of that tradition. Ertaş falls into prison abroad as a result of a traffic accident. Can't reach anyone from Turkey. 3 months in prison. He writes the lyrics of this song on the paper of the cigarette pack. her niece was present at her last concert in Turkey, but they didn't see each other because of the crowds, that's where this song originated. she now sings this for her 16 deceased relatives, including her niece, whom she did not see at the time.

Hi Cojak, to set this performance in a bit more perspective. Karsu lost 16 of her family members in the earthquake, and she performed this during a big TV-fundraiser in the Netherlands for the victims. Just minutes before this performance she did an interview in this TV broadcast, where a lot of emotions already came across (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fDNGnH5q24A.html), and after this emotional interview she performed this..... no way to stop tears. She does care! How dare you say she doesn't care about her loved ones in Turkey! Her first impulse was to go to Turkey but she decided she could help more if she stayed behind. She is organizing every help from our country, The Netherlands, whether it is money, goods or whatever is needed. Giro555 (a combined emergency-aid organisation) also agreed to help and money was raised through a telethon on national TV and thusfar donations made have reached a total of over 108.000.000 euro's. She even raised over 200.000 euro's herself by donating the money she makes from selling a cookbook she wrote.
