that's where most of the $200 billion dollars the US gave them, people thought it was for weapons but it was to prop up their economy to keep things running.
@vickistewart
@vickistewart 6 месяцев назад
@@ToeCutter454no that is incorrect. 90% of the money allocated was spent in the U.S. to produce new weapons to replace the old ones given to Ukraine. They did get some humanitarian aid from the U.S. but most of the cash assistance came from the EU or loans. Ukraine has had to have help as its economy was damaged terribly by the war. I am amazed at how well they have done considering all the damage to the grid, the inability to ship out goods, all the economic activity lost in the occupied territories, and the loss of so many men to the army and women to other countries escaping the fighting. Just shows how resilient the Ukrainians are.
@ToeCutter454
@ToeCutter454 6 месяцев назад
@@vickistewart that goes for any war torn region where fighting has occurred over the span of human history. we do at least have stopgaps now a days with the NATO alliance. i hope they can weather this and it's good that we have fast news stories at our fingertips to know what's going on and it's helped stop for the most part rampant propaganda that would otherwise easily sway the war. my only worry is with everything else going on in the world we're going to stretch ourselves too thin to handle everything, there is still so much going on and people are starting to air their grievances that have been piling up for the last few decades. i would hope that if Putin is overthrown they could fracture Russia up further to be something akin to Canada but rather than being provinces of a larger country each section would itself be it's own separate country, this would resolve a few issues. the water is still too muddy to see a clear outcome on a global level and we've yet to see anything from China regarding Taiwan, it's as though they're waiting for the right moment.
@vickistewart
@vickistewart 6 месяцев назад
@@ToeCutter454 Putin has his hand in many of the conflict areas in the world either directly like Syria and Ukraine or indirectly like Gaza, Venezuela, and Nicaragua not to mention the disinformation campaigns he has going in all the western nations. Getting rid of him and his cronies would be a major step forward toward a more peaceful world.

In Dnipro (eastern side of country) situation a bit harder, more air alerts and more drones & rockets 😞 Economic crisis hits hard also, for instance food prices are almost like in Germany, Italy, France etc, but salaries are low( minimum wage is about ~165€ ) It’s why humanitarian aid is important and we are grateful for it❤️ Of course weapons we need also 🌝❤️

Relieved to see you have returned safely to your country. I last saw you several years ago as you were heading west for safety. Stay safe and may Ukraine succeed in its quest for freedom and democracy. Here in the U.S., it seems the Republican leaders in Congress will agree on more financial support in all likelihood in the next several weeks.The Democrats have been trying to get this funding bill passed for many months. Recently, things look more optimistic.

@Olga_Reznikova 8:45 they are living in a delusion. There is 0% chance of victory in Ukraine. Especially now that no western country wants to support a losing war. Also Russia is out producing NATO and has more man power. Most Americans don't consent to having their tax dollars go to Ukraine. Now the attention has shifted to the Middle East. The US and it's NATO puppets have to save ammunition for a potential war with Iran and China so yes you should be trying to get out of Ukraine.

What is great about Ukraine is that the sky is the limit and there is opportunity everywhere for growth and business and entertainment. Unfortunately there is still a war. But in UK or France there's so much bureaucracy and everything has already been done or built out like industries or investment opportunities etc. that's why Ukraine is the best place for entrepreneurs and possibility. Land is abundant unlike in London or UK where land is expensive and bureaucratic. that's why my friend who lived in Germany for 5 years decided to return back to Ukraine permanently before the war...also many Ukrainian chose to stay in Ukraine instead of going to the west is because they want to preserve their culture. They know if they leave they and their children will lose their ukrainian and Slavic culture forever because of assimilation. you will become polish or just another generic English speaking person living in Europe.

An interesting video. At the risk of seeming somewhat ignorant, I noticed a short time into the video, an adult toy store apparently right in the center of Khmelnytskyi. This isn't unusual in Ukraine? In contrast, in the US typically there are often zoning debates, court cases, or city council meetings, which typically end up putting these kinds of stores in the most underdeveloped, inaccessible, or most obscure location as far from plain view as possible. I'm not untraveled, but I haven't been to Ukraine yet, so I'm not familiar with Ukrainian views on this.

There are only a few places in the entirety of North America where businesses like this are shunned, and they fall within two areas - the bible thumping belt in the southeast and of course mormonland in the Midwest through SLC. Comical, since the mental depravity of those from said areas is right off the charts. Just look at the current speakers “arrangements” with both his young son and daughter… 🤮
@matt_aviz

I'm just trying to imagine how would your life and videos be perceived in WWII Britain. Women in WWII Britain would be working in factories producing arms or other essential goods, working on farms producing food, running bus and taxi services etc. Luxuries would be banned and rationing would be in force. Only a small percentage of the very wealthy middle and upper classes would have had any chance of doing anything like what you do.

I traveled to Ukraine from the United States last year and stayed in Lviv (western Ukraine) for three days. The city is quite ordinary in many ways. I didn't even hear any air raid sirens go off during my time there, but I hear that the sirens are still common in the city. Western Ukraine is definitely safer than other parts of the country. If anyone chooses to travel to Ukraine right now, I would definitely suggest staying in the western part of the country and remaining cautious. Even with the war, I found that Ukraine was still a nice place to visit, and I hope to return in the near future.

One question, if you allow me: I often travel to neighbouring countries of Ukraine and have repeatedly felt tempted to cross over and visit such cities as Odessa, Chernivtsi, Beregove etc. I've always stopped short of doing so, not for security concerns but for fear of being a nuisance as a tourist in a country at war. The city is shelled with missiles from time to time. Since the distance to the front-line is relatively small you basically have less than 5 minutes to hide to a shelter and most missiles and drones hit the target. Russia also tries to destroy energy-producing facilities so there can be blackouts. In case there is no help from US for more long time there is a risk our army will have to slowly retreat in some areas. Zaporizhzhia is still not the main direction of Russian attacks, but this can be changed in future. I personally would not risk living in Zaporizhzhia or Kharkiv (unless you are working there to help our army).

The first time when I saw Polish farmers blocking road dropping Ukrainian grain to the floor made me really angry, I hope those farmers don't do it again. In other hand it is good to see people returning to their activities but it most be very hard to have a familiar/friend fighting in the front 😢 Khmelnistky looks very beautiful and active! Pd. When you are in UK do you still receive alerts from missiles attacks in your phone? I hope you can make some videos of your native city while you are there ❤
