To truly appreciate Cam Newton's plays you have to understand the man is HUGE and ATHLETIC for a QB. 6' 5" or 196 cm and 250 lbs or 112 kg/17.5 stone! The Power required to push himself into the air AND the Pace to out race the defense for 70+ yards is AMAZING! Great reaction! Cheers!

Also need to know he is a loser who wouldn't even go after a fumble in the Superbowl and should be held as an example of what you should aim not to be in sports in general.

@2:20 that play is even easier to tell because the orange pylon at the corner of the end zone is there to show the plane in the vertical axis. And him knocking it over from the inside is just icing on the cake.

2:19 Think of there being a very thin sheet of glass in the middle of the goal line. If the ball were to break that sheet of glass, then it is a touch down.
@chrispavlich9656
@chrispavlich9656 Год назад
The orange marker is considered part of the playing field and it is on the yard marker therefore if the ball touches the the “pylon” (orange marker) it is considered a touchdown.

You’re correct that to score a touchdown the ball merely has to cross the imaginary plane of the goal line in bounds. If you touch the orange pylon it is considered breaking the plane in bounds.

You 100% do that stuff because you have pads on, it makes you feel “safe” the same as if i were to give you a 16oz boxing glove and told you to punch a table, then told you to take off the boxing glove and punch the table you wouldn’t put near as much on it

When young (many moons ago), we used to get all the neighborhood guys together and play full contact football, our only padding was what we put on that morning, we'd beat the living crap out of ourselves loving every moment, it would take a young stronger me a week or better to get over them, no one died but there was an occasional broken bone, God bless modern medicine.

As a former player I can tell you is the pads do nothing and the helmet does very little. Growing up we played like this with no pads or helmet. We even played soccer as a full contact sport.

Pylons are easy; they're set up entirely within the end zone lines, so if you can tap it with the ball you have indisputably broken the plane with the ball (provided *you* aren't out of bounds or otherwise down).

Although the flips are very impressive They really don't happen all that often. The most athletic play I've ever seen Was on 1⁄4 down Close to the end zone so the kicker was trying to score. The Defensive player leapfrog over the lineman in front of him to block the kick. Probably 1 of the Most famous place in college football Is Stanford versus Cal the very last play of the game is affectionately known as "the play". During the last play of the game the Stanford band starts to come on to the field. The player that scored jumped up And came down on to 1 of the band members. This is a link to the play. The video is only 2 minutes long, However it is 1 of the most exciting place I have ever seen. This is the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HG_afqO0fC4.html

yes the pads and helmets liberate players to put themselves at greater risk of injury its unfortunate, the things designed to protect them ultimately persuade them to take more risk. Also the tip of the football has to either cross that thick white line "break the plane" they call it. It doesn't even have to fully get across the line just as long as the tip of the ball is over the white line its a Touchdown. Also If the ball Just touches those orange sticks or Pylons their called, its a Touchdown.

I’ve always said, if I hadn’t grown up with the sport, I seriously doubt I would have ever been able to pick up on it later, after growing up. There are so many rules and intricacies to the game that I’ve always thought would make it frustrating to watch if you didn’t know exactly what was going on. AND they subtly change different rules every year. And then, what must be the most frustrating part of all is all the starting and stopping, making the game drag out for over 3 hours. I do love the game but I can never remember a time not either watching on tv or being at the stadium. As kids we played in the streets “touch” football ALL DAY LONG, everyday during the summers, while out of school.
@christophermckinney3924
@christophermckinney3924 Год назад
The ball has to cross "the plane of the goal line" to be a touchdown. This is an imaginary line from teh ground to space. So if you hit the pilon with the ball--because of where it is placed at the edge and corner of the goal line--you have scored a touchdown. A player can simply extend the ball over the goal line and it is a score. It does not have to be touched down in the end zone as it does in Rugby to be an actual touch down in American football.

Check out clips of Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu- he'll make a believer out of you! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FajepLLJSdM.html

Oh sweet BP2, they would launch themselves with or without the pads and all. Do you have any idea how much money these dudes make? Millions upon millions and MORE MILLIONS! The injuries they sustain are not worth the money, in my opinion. Life long, permanent pain. Rich made a good point on American athletes, you guys ought to hit up some MMA!

@Chuey's Mama Cheers Chuey's Mama, yes indeed the money is huge and I guess if you don't make the play, you don't play. There are many other waiting in line to take their place, so it's get it done anyway you can. Looks damn impressive though.
