@@Allguitarinfo Ya know what's interesting? Some of Lou's best vocals weren't the hits. They were the album cuts. Break it up, I'm gonna win, Heart turns to stone, Rev on the red line, so many others, the solo and Shadow King works were virtuoso level vocals.

You hit the nail on the head on that comment. Lou's voice is legendary and a down to earth guy. Lou is also from my hometown and is a classic car guy and has a nice collection of cars.

Not only did he MAKE the band, he will forever be THE VOICE of Foreigner.

Not a big fan of Foreigner, but yes absolutely, Gramm had one of the best voices to come down the pike. Gramm was every bit as important as Jones.

His voice was a LARGE part of the soundtrack to my generation (Gen-X). I came-of-age listening to that man sing 💓🥰

"Facts" Mick Jones is BASIC... not even mentioned when talking about Great Rock Guitarists. Not on the same planet as: Steve Howe, Alex Lifeson, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, David Gilmour, SRV, Robin Trower, Steve Stevens, Andy Summers ( add tons more that are better than him ). Lou Gramm made Foreigner !!!

As a trained vocal major, I worked in a lot of jazz, blues, country, and rock bands, and the six-string guitarists are all the same; a bunch of arrogant, self-righteous basement players. The only grounded, disciplined guitarists with character are those that are musically trained. Most are what I call "basement players". The basement is the only "team work training" that they have received, so they think they're the center of the world. And, as a lead-singer myself? They treat us like dirt and I have been in similar situations as Gramm. In the end, they suffer because of their arrogance.

Pure BS Politics. It's not about legendary Rock FAN popularity or history. It's a $ making enterprise, and exclusionary. Say the wrong thing, or not liked in their inner circle, and you're out. It's basically a meaningless tourist attraction. However, Jones milked the band into a JOKE, all replacements, and so the true band may never get in now.

What's wrong with disrespecting her? She deserves disrespect. She may be a competent musician, but she's not a good person.

I remember the first time I heard it on the radio and thinking “wow someone’s playing guitar just like Nils Lofgren!” - then I found out it was Nils!😎 Big fan of both Nils and Lou. Hard to believe Rochester would burn any of Lou’s albums but maybe I wasn’t paying attention at the time.

I didn't see that show, but I did see a bunch of shows at the LNC, in Norman before and after 1981.

⁠@@gordonbaker410Did you by chance go to the Gino Vannelli concert at Lloyd Noble in the early 70s? I worked for Coach Barry Switzer at OU, so I had front row, center seats. Gino’s performance was INCREDIBLE! Talk about a powerhouse voice!! And Gino looked like a god on stage in all white. 😂 The girls were throwing themselves at him!

Their first 4 albums are Dynamite!! You literally can play them back to back to back to back and NEVER skip over a song.

I was a vocal major in in high school and a vocal major in college from 1980 to 1982, and I sang Seventeen in a rock band. I was not a true RnR singer, I was more of a "George Frideric (or Frederick) Handel" type of guy, lol, but I could sing Lou. His range was my range.

The Arcade…most kids today don’t know what they missed

First time I saw him was with Poor Heart. They used to play dances at a little church in our hometown. When Black Sheep happened probably saw them 50 times around our area. I always knew that he would go places. He was just so good, it had to happen. A lot of true artists get screwed in the music biz, and that's a dam shame. Lou got screwed right left and center. He deserves a lot more than he's gotten so far. Great musician. He has my respect.

Yup ! Hometown hero and still lives here. The HOG is still a great store for music. Black Sheep played our high school in 73 !

That's a bit much. His voice is fantastic, without question. But he played no other instrument besides drums, so he needed Mick's writing and arranging skills. And the other Foreigner guys contributed to that classic sound, too.

Yes. Hansen is a good rock singer & performer, but he pretended to be as important as Lou, singing covers of Lou's songs. Jones gave him a job, do it or else, and it supported his life, but on top of gifted musicians, Lou made real Foreigner what they are, Legends, and Great. The long touring cover band should have been renamed "Mick's Cash Grab". Lou is also a man with an amazing story of overcoming odds a fight to go on. An incredible rebound. Tons of Respect for Lou, one of the Great Rock Vocalists ever. Sadly, not so much for Jones. It's like a mirror image, his story is of a long slow decline. Karma ? Maybe. Who really knows.

Mr. Moonlight was the last Foreigner CD I bought.

@@johnsmith-ug5tp Lou told me personally Mr. Moonlight was one of his favorites even though it didn't do well commercially... I so enjoyed it too. Love the song" Rain" Moral of the song, Be positive even when life causes Storm Clouds full of rain, the Sun 🌞 is going to shine again !

Music really touches our feelings and emotions. Memories attached to certain songs, Good and Bad... in each of our lives.
