Lou Gramm is such an under appreciated vocalist. He’s the reason I listen to Foreigner. This was a great interview. Thank you!

Mine too. And you're way of spelling your is also my favorite way to spell it. Lol.......... Just messing with you. I was too young to see Foreigner when Lou was still in the band, but the guy they've had forever is a pretty good singer too. I like his voice. He's no Lou, but he's great nonetheless.

Lou is our hometown juke box hero! My father saw him perform at a bar in the early 70s, and I've listened to that story my entire life.

It’s kind of serendipitous what happened to black sheep for Lou anyway. I agree with him completely about keyboards in the 80s. I was hanging outside of the dome arena for that kiss show, my mom wouldn’t let me buy a ticket, I was 10. Lou, a hometown boy, congrats! 🤘

Always great to see Lou! Great voice and delivery! And a great songwriter!!. As i recall, Black Sheep was the result of battle of the bands in Rochester that they won. Great songs on those albums too! Lou has immense talent. Opening for them at fantasy swings was a highlight of my music career. It's a tough biz.

This is by far the best recent interview I've seen of Lou! He really opened up to the positives throughout his amazing life. You were so great at keeping this interview on track, on the lighter side, and I can see how much you admire the life he's led as well. Smiles!

What an amazing video! Thank you for posting. I have been a fan of his for as long as I can remember. One of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll voices of all time. I cannot believe it has taken this long for him and Foreigner to get their proper due and get inducted into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame. It’s about goddamn time!

Ego’s and bands,bands and ego’s it’s hard enough to get signed and even harder to create great music and once your on solid ground is when the money gets larger along with the ego and unless you can overcome that dynamic it can fall apart quickly. Lou Graham is in my top ten of rock singers of all time he was brilliant in Foreigner!

You have to wonder if after all these years if Mick now realizes it was wrong for him to treat Lou that way. Will he at least admit it and apologize so they can get along as friends again??
@stevemclean5787
@stevemclean5787 2 месяца назад
That'll never happen. Mick has always been a greedy prick and has no problem using people to get ahead. He treats people the same way Neal Schon does. When he's gotten what he can from someone, he moves on Mick owes Lou over $2M in royalties. Lou is a saint.

I prefer the first three Foreigner albums and it was a mistake to change the chemistry of the band with the departure of Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood. Ian, from what I’ve gathered contributed a lot more to the band than he ever got credit for. I have to say that it’s pretty ridiculous that they touring without original members and especially Lou Gramm whose voice is crucial to the sound and success.

I absolutely love Lou Gramm. He has one of the most beautiful God given voices ever. However, he reminds me of when my mother was in the beginning stages of dementia. She was angry about so much and couldn't let go of things and people that wronged her many years ago. It was like the things she had forgiven and forgotten had come back to the forefront of her mind, and she just couldn't let them go. I pray that isn't the case with Lou. He and Mick wrote some beautiful music together. I know he is very understandably hurt by the song credits for I Want to Know What Love Is. Foreigner (only with Lou) definitely deserves RRHOF induction. They are so deserving.

Yes I noticed this also. He seems to have a very wounded ego. Usually very compassionate sensitive people seem to have this issue. Plus he is in an industry full of narcissists
@BiBi11445

@@newavatar2947 absolutely! I also think he was very deeply hurt when Mick Jones re-recorded all of the Foreigner hits that Lou made famous with Kelly Hansen.
@newavatar2947
@newavatar2947 2 месяца назад
@@BiBi11445 that's low. And I bet most people who picked up a C.D of that didn't know they were redone with a different singer. Mick probably signed to a different label where he would see more royalties and saw an opportunity

Lou is the guy who navigated through a portion of Hell which leaked out onto the surface of Earth (the music industry) and managed to retain his soul. He's also the sort of man I bet a guy could count on in a pinch. I have a bit of guilt for thinking he was done and over when he got sick back in the 90s. I'm really glad he proved me wrong! I probably should remain silent, but ... Disappointing that Mick is a jealous greedy weasel.
