Someone else may have said this already, but you can get smart bulbs with a remote. You would just leave the light switch on and use the remote to turn on and off the bulb. That way you can actually turn on your light from the bedroom. :)
When I had to relocate after retirement to a new location and a house that needed a lot of work, and was the first time I had lived alone since the ‘70’s , my daughter(from another state) visited and painted ONE wall and helped me setup a bookcase wall. I set up all my loved one’s photos, my books, treasures, etc. so I had ONE space to sit and feel like home during the arduous, emotional unpacking and settling in! It made such a difference!

The arched window in your bedroom is so pretty! I would leave it as is too! The battery operated lights are so cute. I have a spoiled dachshund and she is allowed on the bed too. She sleeps with us every night. Dog hair is a super small thing compared to the huge love they give us. I’m glad you have your fur babies. ❤

Put smart bulbs in the overhead lights and then you can activate them by voice! Also, when you are moving something heavy and you don't have moving slides, cardboard under each foot will do the same thing (for next time).

Let me just tell you, I went though 2 separations/divorce wirh my first husband! The first was absolutely devastating and horrible! I stayed in the marital home and that made everything so much worse! The second one was more expected actually and I moved within 3 days. The best thing I ever did! I did have 2 small kids which was not easy but a new home made everything so much easier
In your bedroom you could get light bulbs that are controlled by Alexa for your ceiling light. Then you could have Alexa turn them on and off when you are up in your bedroom.
Im sure everyone has mentioned it but you can switch the light bulbs out for rechargeable ones. I bought some from Amazon and you just control it with the remote it comes with.
I had a room like that for a few years. I got the Ikea wire curtain rod and hung it slightly above the closet doorway and ran curtains all the way down.

Cute place. Like the lamps. If you have Google you can get Phillip Hue light blub for your over head light fixtures and you can have it come on and off by telling Google. We have it in our master bedroom. Hope you enjoy your down time!

We put smart bulbs in our rooms. They can be controlled with an app. The bulb color and brightness can be changed. Maybe this would be an option for you 😊

Instead of curtains at your closet..have you considered barn doors? They can be easily cut. That would look awesome. Curtains are tacky and a mess to move out of the way trying to get to you clothes. Just an idea. Best wishes

They make a film that you can place on the inside of your windows. You can see outside but you can't see inside. The only drawback is at night, if you are outside looking in, you can see inside if that makes any sense. But it does cut down on the amount of light and heat coming in the house. I live in Georgia and it's hotter than a grilled jalapeno here right now, so window film is a godsend. Good luck!!! I love your videos!!!!

Get some smart light bulbs that are compatible with an Alex's and all you do is leave the switch on and use the Alexa to turn on and off or use the app that comes with the bulbs.

Love these moving vlogs. I’m sure you have already seen this option, but I figured I’ll mention it just in case. I have a few of the rechargeable lights and they die off fairly fast if one uses them all the time. There are however some smart bulbs that come with a remote control. You could use this for your main light, since you have the light switch downstairs, and you could leave it on all night and just use the remote to turn it off from bed.

Ann, u so need to stop & recharge...I think we get on auto pilot to keep ourselves distracted from the trauma (in ur case ur divorce) we've endured & numb ourselves by staying busy. I'm in Aaww of how much you've gotten done in 3 wks. It is mind blowing 🤯 I would b willing to bet most people would b depressed & none functioning after going through all you've been through. If this makes u feel a little better, I want u to know when I watch ur videos it motivates me to get stuff done in my own little in-law apt. in SF.
