A busy week delivered official jersey reveals across the NHL. We got new third jerseys for the Vancouver Canucks and Arizona Coyotes along with the 2023 #NHLAllStar uniforms-which actually does include 4 versions!
The Canucks’ new look launched unexpectedly as the team celebrated the life of former fan favorite Gino Odjick. The Coyotes’ new look was created by fashion designer Rhuigi Villaseñor and revives a classic team color.

Yep. Unfortunately, most companies don’t buy expensive sports sponsorships in order to blend in or dilute their own brands. They do it to stand out from the crowd.

It would still look awful even if the colors matched. Canucks might as well put the hideous TD in the center, and take everything else off since no amount of money will ever be enough.

Those All Star jerseys are the best I've seen, by far. An instant hit, and for the first time I'm actually tempted to buy one. Not only because of the star but I absolutely love the colors! I'm born in the late 80s, so they are obviously right up my alley! I think the captain's patch on the Arizona jerseys is a great move, on par with Calgary's flaming A on their previous jerseys. I wondered if they'd go with their old shoulder patch as the alternate captain's patch (the one with the 'A' in the paw), but I actually think I like the cactuses better. I hope this is the beginning of Arizona playing around with the Kachina pattern, and I hope to see a(nother) Kachina inspired crest some day. The wordmark is okay but nothing more.

@@fantasticvoyage262 I'm not sure, I personally wish they'd kept it. I think they did that with the switch to their current throwback jerseys, and the most logical reason to me is that they are just copying what the 'A' looked like on the original jerseys that the current ones are modeled after. I doubt it has got something to do with copyright or anything like that. I'm just guessing though.

When I saw a game in Vancouver last March, I bought this Player Series T-shirt in the team store and it's just the skate, no white, and no word mark. I wonder if the sales of that design made the team think it should do the jersey.

Funny you should mention that. This particular shade of blue is what the Kraken use and will likely be the base for their new third jersey in 2023-24. Let’s see if you’re right!

I used to be a big supporter of the Orca logo, but I feel that it's finally outstayed it's welcome. I love the new skate jersey without the white - it makes it feel much more crisp and modernised, despite it still being a very much a retro looking logo. I do agree that there's probably a better idea for a rebrand out there, but for now I think this is the best that the Canucks have to offer and I wouldn't be opposed to them going with it full time again.

Underwhelmed by the Arizona third. As you said, some of the little details bring welcome freshness ("C" and "A", asymetrical shorts graphics, etc), but the overall jersey seems sadly uninspired despite these nice ideas.

That Arizona uniform has some winning touches, such as the crescent moon serving as the captain's C and the leaning cactuses (cacti??) making up the alternate's A, but the overall package is a bit underwhelming. The Canucks uniform, though, is going to be massively popular - even with that TD logo. As for the All-Star jerseys - oh yes. One gripe is the orientation of the NHL puck logo - it needs to be going upwards.

Canuck "re-hash" is right! 90s colours applied to the 2019 third jersey template... also echoing somewhat the uniform worn from '85 to '89 (blech, worse than the flying V, IMO). I'm afraid this new third will be forever ruined by the "fan-alienating Boudreau fiasco" that occured over the first 3 consecutive games that these were worn. If they plan to go back to the "skate", it really has to be the '94 kit, and nothing else. Arizona is surprisingly understated with that "etch-a-sketch" striping. And I think those Florida All Star unis are awesome... a fresh take on that 94 look... but man, a part of me dropped when you said "almost three decades ago". Argh... feeling... so... old.

I love the color of the Coyotes Alternate 3rd jersey but not feeling the wordmark Arizona across the front they should of put the Kachina logo, or the Kachina head, or their old logo the howling Coyote on the front

I’m not quite clear on what you’re asking, Jarred. If you’re wondering what will be available for fans to purchase, my sense is black for East and white for West. The alternate versions with the swapped crests will likely be for All-Star Game action only.

Good question. If the Central division advances, I'd like the option to buy the black jersey with Western Conference on the front. But I don't see it available yet.

I'll be the contrarian who doesn't like the All-Star jerseys. The color scheme is fine, but the Western and Eastern logos are blech. I really liked what they did the past few years with consistent division uniform templates with the individual player's team's crest in a complimentary monochromatic color on the front. Regarding Arizona, I think the wordmark would look better if there was some forced perspective, like maybe big to small, like you were looking at the word going off into the distance. The Canucks' skate logo is terrific, but the sleeve and hem striping isn't great.

Almost all of the Reverse Retro jerseys are keeping the original logos while swapping out different colors. So the conference logos aren't going to be changed.

I think the ASG jerseys would be better if they ditched the black. The blue and pink is fun and vibrant, then the black just seems out of place. Maybe now that Adidas has made these star pattern jerseys, they'll do one for Dallas. Their old star pattern jerseys were some of my favorites, I can envision Marty Turco now.

Nucks jersey is fantastic. And I say that as a Hawks fan I stand by my opinion that the Yotes jersey just has too much red and could really use more white or tan to balance it out.
