Let's explore a beautiful Asian-American owned farm by the Chou Family, rich in a variety of Asian fruits and vegetables.
🌱 In this video, we'll discover the produce grown by the Chou family, including persimmons, bittermelon, bamboo, tomatoes, mountain apples, gourds, passionfruit, and more.
We start with a tour of the farm, diving into the world of Asian agriculture during the fall season here in the US. Learn a little bit about each of these fruits and vegetables from this Taiwanese American family-run farm.
After wandering through the farm, we handpick some of the freshest ingredients. Then, it's time to bring these Asian fruits and veggies into the kitchen! Here are a few dishes we will make:
🍅 Tomato Egg Stir Fry
🍜 Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup
🦐 Filipino-Inspired Dish with coconut milk and shrimp paste
🍹 Passionfruit Tea Drink

🍅 Which of the fruits and vegetables have you NOT tried before? 🍜 Thank you so much to the Chou family! Tyler @thecreatorsattorney (my attorney) + her brother Geoff (@grubbingwithgeoff) invited us to their parents' farm since I had expressed my love for Asian fruits and vegetables. It was fascinating to see the crossovers between Filipino & Taiwanese cuisines!

I tried one of the persimmons that are supposed to be super soft before it was super soft. And it was like pulling a prank on myself: if you eat those before they’re ready your whole mouth and tongue will go numb! I had no idea what had happened to me I a started anxiously washing my mouth out repeatedly because I thought I had chemicals or pesticides in my mouth hahah. Then I googled the different types of persimmons and learned what had just occurred lol. Oh and passion fruit is my favorite-in Hawai’i we call it Lilikoi. Anyway awesome video! Thanks

I live in a garden like their's too. Our Bamboo produce alot of those tiny ones,it sold cheaply here 😊. Will definitely make the passion fruit/lemon juice. We have both of those fruits growing too. Living in a place like this is really heaven,I plan to grow lots of sunflower this year 😊

What a lovely video I was so excited when I saw a passion fruit drink and I have to tell you about how I’ve been harvesting passionflowers to add to my passion fruit drinks. Passion fruits don’t grow on vines here but passion flowers can be planted as annuals and it’s a nice petally experience that adds a soothing touch to the passion fruit drinks and I think it’s medicinal.

Hey jeanell, I was wondering could you make a season of making soup? If you do, can you make albondigas? Albondigas is very special to me and I would like you to try it. It's really good and is a warm cozy dish. Thanks!

This was so informative! I wish I can use all of these fruits/vegetables in my recipes, but I think it will be hard to find them in the US local grocery stores. Maybe I can find them in the Asian markets? But they might not be available in certain seasons.

Yes! You can definitely find them in Asian markets especially Chinese!
