Great video! I actually make Chow Mein with Top Ramen noodles from Costco, so it's good to see Chef Lau do the same with Vite Ramen! Like Chef Lau said, the key is to cook the noodles just enough so they separate from each other, then rinse with cold water and add a little Sesame Oil to keep the noodles from sticking together, then let sit to drain a little before frying!

So happy to see this guilty pleasure of mine presented on Made with Lau, especially with such a healthy ramen noodle brand! Stir fried ramen is a staple in Hong Kong style cha chaan tengs and you can have it with any topping. Its got superb wok-hei and almost a toasty aroma but also it's usually quite oily haha. Would like to share a lazy simple version of stir fried ramen noodles for those without a wok or hates the lingering oily vapours after woh-hei filled stir frying. I do it by briefly blanching the noodles like daddy lau did and make sure all vegetables are cooked, then i add in just a bit of oil to let the noodles sizzle a bit, and then i'll add in the noodle seasoning package (not gonna waste precious msg) and a bit of water to let everything mix (now thinking of it you can also melt the seasoning in a bit of water first too) and voila.

Cantonese Chicken was the very first Asian food I tried at 10 years old. I was addicted to it immediately. It’s not a common dish in the area I live in so I haven’t had it in years. The dish was a deep fried flattened breaded chicken breast with a light clear broth gravy served on a bed of lettuce. The wilted lettuce added another unique flavor to eat with the Cantonese Chicken. Do you have a recipe for this or is it also an Americanized dish?

Although I can cook my country's dishes, I wanna explore foreign cuisine particularly asian cuisine, and most of the foods in your cahnnel, I can easily access the ingredients at our local market. Also, chinese restaurants are not common here even at the malls, so easiest way to a chinese cuisine is to make it at home.

Malaysians do this a lot. We call it maggi mee goreng. Maggi noodles are just the common name we give to instant noodles as maggi was the prevalent brand. “Mee goreng” = fried noodles. Mee is the Hokkien word for noodles and became part of Malay and Indonesian. Mee in Malay and Mi in Indonesian. And sometime we throw in the seasoning from the packet for some MSG goodness…
@Marastife
@Marastife Год назад
I threw together something like this a couole weeks ago, but all I had were these Indian noodles, but they were like ramen, firm and springy, took about 4 mins to cook up. Then I made a nice sauce with soy, dark soy, ginger, garlic and spring onion. Stir fried it with carrot, cabbage, spinach, onion, garlic and ginger. Came out pretty fucking good. Better than most Asian places around me. This is why I love Asian food though, it's fast and simple, as long as you do the prep first. I could pound out a meal for 6 with 10-12 mins of actually cooking, even less if it's a veggie dish, like 5 mins.your people are truly kings of fast delicious healthy food. Well all Asians really, except pho places, that stock can take days. But you can make a fuck ton of atock and freeze for later to make it easier.

In the hotel I work in, sometimes we have leftover veggies from one service to the next (since we do buffet-style, we peel, chop, dice and prep a LOT of stuff and sometimes not all of it gets eaten). As a result, stir fries are one of our go-to recipes for 'cleaning the fridge' so to speak. Delicious, quick and so very, very adaptable. All you really need is soy sauce, water and sugar, but you can toss in anything from sweet chilli sauce, ketchup, teriyaki sauce all the way to balsamic vinegar, depending on what ingredients you're working with and what final flavors you want to reach. Typically, though, I'll stick to something simple; carrots, spring onions, ginger (finely chopped, not ground), onions, garlic and mushrooms, with either egg noodles or rice as my starch. It's usually enough of a 'hit', it'll wipe our pantry clean. And wipe us out with exhaustion too, but seeing a customer enjoy their food is worth all that sweat.
