My best friend's mom emigrated from Germany to the US and introduced me to 'pancake soup' which was basically crepes cut into strips in beef broth. I haven't had them in years due to trying to avoid gluten and carbs, but now you've given me a way to make pancake soup again in honor of this wonderful woman who recently passed away.
Of all the things I have missed and not found a suitable replacement for: noodles are at the top of the list. I tried these tonight and made a keto alfredo lasagna with them. There was no taste of egg or other problem with them. I am absolutely thrilled with this recipe. Thank you.
@@infernus6278 that taste comes from two things from my experience: 1. Too much yolk 2. Overcooking Also, the gelatin likely changes the texture and dilutes any remaining flavor to some degree. 🤔 Hope that makes sense!
I was thinking you could use a mandolin on an ultra thin setting after freezing...if you didn't have a good enough knife or proper knife skills. Ignore the haters lol.
If you put the raw egg in a tea strainer for a second, it will drain that watery stuff. This was a tip in making poached eggs, too. Just let the egg sit in the strainer for a second until the runny white is gone. The thicker white will remain with the yolk. I finally was able to make poached eggs this way with no runny whites in the water.
@@ulflyng Not true because the fresher the egg the less liquid they will have from the break down of the proteins. Not a matter if them being "free range" because that means very little. They can be "free range" just because they have access to a small out door area.
I had a medical procedure done today and therefore wanted something easy, but comforting to eat. I made these noodles and dropped them into some chicken broth…. Heaven! I am so grateful for this simple yet delicious alternative to pasta! This will be a staple in my cuisine from now on. Thank you 🙏 ❤
I’ve made these three nights in a row now!! 🤩 First I did beef stroganoff with xanthan gum to thicken it, then I served the noodles with melted butter alongside chicken thighs. Tonight I used them for lasagna. I added some herbs and garlic powder to jazz them up a bit. Yum!! This recipe is basically foolproof, and you really don’t need any special tools. I do have the same crepe pan so I used that, but to flip them I just slid a spatula handle under there and it worked fine. Even a clean ruler or other long, thin piece of plastic would work. Everyone-make these ASAP!!
Totally Awesome! So, 69 yr old man, working on getting seed oils out of my life and reducing carbs. This recipe is sooooo easy! I bought an 11" pan on Temu for $20, should have paid attention and got the 10"😮. Only had 1 1/2 tbsp of gelatin and too lazy to go to the store. So, cut 1 egg white out and even with the larger pan made 1 3/4 crepes. Took like 5-10 min start to finish. They came out beautifully and flavor was not exactly the same as flour noodles, but comparable. I'd rate this recipe a 10 all day long! Thank you sooo much😂
Sooo happy you popped up in my feed. Subscribed. Gonna make this this week!! Thank you for this! Been carnivore for 34 days. Really missing chicken n noodles and just pasta dishes in general. Can not wait to experiment with these!
Thank you so much for all the carnivore and keto-carnivore recipes. Your videos are so interesting to watch and your camera work is excellent. My wife and I (in or 70's) are new to this way of eating and have watched a lot of videos on recipes. We just wanted to thank you for all your sharing of ideas. (Also, your notes with each video are so helpful... keep up the great work...
Your channel as well as Serious Keto's are my favorite to binge watch. Thank you for all you do to help us eat healthier. I am starting my ketovore lifestyle right now.
Thank you!! I was on Keto for 15months but stopped due to not eating enough + Keto being expensive. But now I got a cavity again so Im wanting to stop reg diet again and do carnivore, this saved my life I looooveeee noodles and spaghetti bolognese.
Those look great and I can get all those ingredients in the UK, there are so many things we can’t get such as allulose, butter powder etc it’s very frustrating when the bread etc looks so good but we can’t make it, thanks for all the effort you put in ❤️
I love "egg noodles" so I'm making beef srogganoff first. Thank you for all you do to make our lives so much easier and healthy. Also want to make a tuna casserole. Maybe I can get back on track and get past this stall. Thanks again. 💕
Very nice. Will be trying your recipe. I've used other no-carb/low-carb noodles and I really like adding them to an Asian stir-fry it's great because fried rice includes egg, so the flavors work together nicely with the egg based noodles added to the meat, veg and seasoning you would use for fried rice. Add the noodles at the very end because trying to stir fry them makes them fall apart.
Wow! That’s amazing. I’m currently trying to eat a meat based diet and have cut out all breads and pastas. I was really craving spaghetti tonight. Definitely going to try this recipe!!
I just started carnivore. Great timing to see this recipe pop up in my news feed. I love crepes and egg noodles; so this will be wonderful on spaghetti night. Thank you for sharing this recipe.😊
This is AMAZING! So much cheaper then buying store bought. I live in an area that they are hard to find. I love the right tools for the job! It makes a big difference.
I love these, have used them in so many ways. My fave snack is to cut them thin, put them in my countertop oven to dry them out a bit and then put into a hot skillet with pork belly grease and fry them crispy, sprinkle lots of salt / jalapeno cheese porking good seasoning on them and eat them like a shoestring fry. Even a sprinkling of parm cheese. omg I'm getting hungry now just thinking about them, LOL
Just last night I was saying how I missed my crockpot enchiladas and need to figure out how to make it keto and this morning here you are! I’d forgotten all about these. I still need to make these. Thank you so much!
These are delicious! I made them with two whole eggs, and did not notice an eggy taste. I made them a bit smaller and had two on the side with some hamburger meat. These are a nice change of pace! And they do taste a lot like unsweetened pancakes. Very yummy. Thank you for sharing this recipe. 👍
just began putting 2x eggyolk and butter in my coffee, so creamy and delicious. now i have something to use the eggwhites for (which i kinda find disgusting, which sounds kind of weird for someone who gobbles down near raw beef by the fistfull)
I have been missing noodles and these are perfect thank you. I made Beef Noodle soup from Beef ribs I pressure cooked with Bone Broth and added the noodles . Delicious! Blessings!
Thank you for your work on this recipe. My first every "crepe" and it was a total fail... much like the first pancake days. I need a crepe pan for sure!!! But the other three I got from the batch were good and tasty. I will definitely have to try this again!
These are wonderful noodle substitutes. I started making ones much like these last year - keto twins did iirc ketogenic woman's recipe (3 eggs, 4 tbsp cr ch, 1 tbsp parm ch, 3 tbsp pork rind dust, blend, pour out on big rectangular baking sheet (sil. mat) - bake 6-7 min at 350) - cool, roll, slice). I don't know why you make them as crepes - maybe you like this or find it easy. I have done your other carn. pasta recipe (well this basic one) and poured it out on a rect. baking sheet - just like the others (also on a sil. mat on the sheet) - baked at 350 6-7 min - and cooled, rolled, sliced. It was - for me - far easier than frying them as crepes and worked great. I don't mean to sound critical when I say "I don't know why" - I am a fan. It's more that I want to know if there is a reason. If they are better fried as crepes (more fat??) pls let me know. But the baking method worked great for me. Thanks.
I added several table spoons of almond flour with arrow root flour and 1/4 teaspoon of xanthan gum just because I think noodles have a flour or they are just eggs. They were great , thanks for the inspiration !!!
I made these today as a wrap for a bacon and vegetable omelette (hoping to get my husband SLOWLY into keto). He said "interesting, what is it." I said it is a bread substitute and better for HIM. It was a BIG omelette and he ate all of it saying it was very good. Thank you for the recipe. Because he will not give up bread (carbs) or cakes/cookies I am trying to find ways to make them keto also so he won't be so staunch against eating good and since I do most of the cooking he won't have much choice. Right!?
Hi Indigo Nili, this is my first visit to your channel, and I am so delighted to learn how I can enjoy healthy noodles without the grain ingredient - thank you so much for sharing this marvelous recipe! I love noodles but have not been eating them - your video taught me I can make homemade noodles and enjoy them again! There are so many ways to use noodles, my mind was racing about the pastabilities (you should trademark that name). How about using the noodles to make a Beef & Broccoli on Noodles meal? I am so excited to make these new noodles - thank you - you made my day!
I just made these. They came out very good for my first attempt. I’m eating them either a creamy chicken. My beef gluten seamed to all sink to the bottom. Next time I will stir the batter just before pouring.
I just made my very first try! I LOVE them! So HAPPY you put out this video of them. I have to use the NuWave Cooktop and had no idea of what temp to use, so I was experimenting and happy they turned out great. I used one whole egg to the carton kind eggwhite liquid. Some day I may try with real egg whites. YUMMY! 👍👍
Thankful to have found you I’ve been carnivore for 9 months and feel like I need to expand my repertoire without giving up my animal based diet- this is perfect ❤
Thanks, Nili... I made these for the first time tonight... mine folded up when I turned them, but my stove isn't level & I figured it wouldn't affect the taste much. I made kind of a stroganoff with ground beef, broth, cream cheese & a little cheddar along with some mushrooms, onions & a touch of xanthan gum to thicken... my noodles are thick, but taste great, a nice addition! Just have to practice to get the crepe correctly turned..lol. Yum
Hi Indigo, I just made these carnivore noodles and they taste delicious and I’m putting them with some chicken broth and chicken for one meal and then tomorrow a carnivore chicken Alfredo! 😋 They taste delicious thank you very very much. This was so easy and I didn’t have a crate pan so I used nonstick skillet and aspatula and another spatula. First time for everything I never made anything like a crêpe before. And I used one and 3/4 of egg whites that contain three egg yolks and it came out good thank you so very very much.👏💪🥚🧈🥩🥓❤️👏👏
Looks divine and out-of-the-box thinking. That's so much manual effort, I don't have that energy. If I get a raise at work, maybe I'll pay a chef to make it.
Greetings from Grants Pass, OR. I have been newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, these look like the perfect substitute for my beloved noodles. Thank you!
Thank you! I have been keto 6 years and shall definitely make these today. I love carbonara, so will do it first. I really appreciate the way you taught me how to make thse noodles. I love eggs.
I made them the other night! Perfect and EASY and delicious! I had tried the ones you bake in the oven- never worked- I could never get them off the cookie sheet! The crêpes were so easy! Wish I could post a photo! I’m wondering about putting a little oat fiber or SunFlour or coconut flour in it just to give them a BIT more bite. Anyone tried that?
Thank you Nili! I’m so excited to make chicken soup and add these in. I bought a Rotisserie chicken, had that for dinner and still had some skin left- made Cracklings from it in toaster oven- oh my- sooo good. I bought some chicken bone broth, chicken feet, deboned the rotisserie ch. and use all that to make my own bone broth, and put some slivered chicken and your noodles in it, it’s gonna be wonderful! Will let y’all know.
From Italy- Very nicely done. Thank you. Because they are already rich in egg protein(so sorry I do not know the other ingredients you used) I will only prepare fresh tomato sols, chopped and cooked in extra virgin olive oil with one clove of garlic flavor, then throw the proteins fettuccine in the pen, mix and finished with a little parmesan chees and 1 life of basil on top. (Like we do Spaghetti al Pomodoro )and serve them.
I’d love to see someone cooking on non toxic pans . It’s harder to cook but necessary to avoid toxic exposure that accumulates . Good food cooked in bad pans isn’t good after all .
I am delighted to have found you and this recipe. I am very excited to use these with homemade alfredo sauce. Thank you for sharing! BTW...Totally subbed!🌹
I buy pork skin which is cut into 1/8 inch strips like a vermicelli noodle. I get them at the Asian grocery store. Also if you're on a keto diet glass noodles for sweet potato noodles are really low in carbohydrate. They are 17 grams per serving. There are other brands that have higher carbs so watch out for those. You get those at the Asian grocery store as well
Yum! Looks so good! I just got some non dairy Alfredo Sauce from Thrive market. I'm going to cook some chicken, then simmer it in the Alfredo sauce, then add some of these noodles. 😀
Finally got the wife on this diet and now I send her videos like these so my variety will increase. No way I'm making these and have them turn out well. I'm tired of steak and hot dog weenies with bacon, lol.
I have subscribed! Your videos are full of interesting information and very well explained! I am looking forward to trying these noodles and many of your other recipes! Thank you for sharing them.
