I read two books this month and called it a success...😭

I finished the picture of Dorian Grey a few days ago, im honestly proud of myself because ive been trying to read it for MONTHS! i hope im able to get out of the major reading slump im in this month! 😩😊

February was the month of lots of fun romance books, i love that for you!!! Galatea is such a beautiful short story, I love madeleine miller. Also i adore ur blazer in this omgg

So happy you're enjoying Elden Ring!! Dark Souls 3 was my introduction to the Soulsborne universe and it taught me SO much about worldbuilding and interactive storytelling that I had never experienced in a game before. Highly recommend Bloodborne too for the Lovecraftian vibes ~

I'm currently reading Don Quixote and Persopolis Rising (the Expanse book 7) and these days, I mostly play Stardew Valley but I definitely LOVE Skyrim. I continually come back to that came, but for now, farming simulations help fight the stress of life.

I’ve only played Dragon Age: Inquisition out of the DA series but the storytelling in it was incredible. Absolutely can’t wait for the next one.

I just start reading the rise of kyoshi by f.c.yee and i just started a rewatch of star wars rebels. which when you finish clone wars you should definitely watch rebels. its so good and has amazing story telling.

Currently reading Piranesi. I wasn’t sure I was gonna like it at first but it became so intriguing and now I’m absolutely loving it ❤️❤️

I’m currently reading Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo… 1 chapter in and HOLY FRICK. It’s a lot!! I’m invested though! I also just finished the Folk of the Air trilogy, so I’m feeling pretty fulfilled! I finished watching This is Going to Hurt last week and not I’m not sure what to watch- I need recs! I keep watching old Disney movies over and over again… for nostalgias sake ;)

Hey Joel. Always nice seeing a new video of yours pop up. I got my list a bit messed up, so I am not sure which books I finished in February, but I think it was two, a novel and a philosophy book. The former was The kite runner by Khaled Hosseini. It was so beautiful!! I don't want to say too much about it, not because of spoilers, because it's not a plot heavy book, but just because it's an experience. The latter was a short collection of essays by Montagne. On friendship, on solitude and a few others I can't recall right now. He definitely has some interesting thoughts, if you can look past the horrendous bigotry. I won't say more, but it's bad... I also read a philosophy magazine titled "the scattered self" (which was definitely an interesting experience for someone with ADHD). I'm following through on reading more classics. I'm almost finished with "Crime and Punishment" by Dostojewski. Other than that I am reading "the swarm" by Frank Schätzing. I'm not really getting into it yet, but I'm not far into the books so far, so who knows. It was recommended to me multiple times, so I'll see. As a non fiction I'm still reading "the sleep solution" by Chris Winter PhD. And the philosophy book I'm currently reading is "the principle of responsibility" by Hans Jonas. (I couldn't find the English title, but I think that's it). I'd say this book just gets more and more relevant as time goes on. It's really dense, so I would only recommend it, if you like philosophy, but if you do, I think it's one of the most important works of philosophy in general. With environmental destruction getting worse, it can be frustrating to see how early the warnings started... I should definitely read something cheerful next month. A lot of downers lately. Wow, I am rambly today

Love on the Brain was soooo good! I got an ARC from Netgalley and I loved it, not quite as much as the Love Hypothesis, but still..

If you're looking for a new middle grade series, may I recommend Keeper of the Lost Cities? It has quickly become one of my comfort reads; it's full of magic and secret organizations and lovable characters!

Currently reading Maurice by E. M. Forster and I'm excited to see how I will feel about it as I've been meaning to read it for almost a year! I've been watching Yona of the Dawn (my first anime) and I love it!

For video games I GOTTA recommend Horizon: Zero Dawn especially if you're interested in game narratives ohhh gosh! It's my favourite game of all time for its world and characters and the combat and all of that but ESPECIALLY the story. It's the game that really drove home to me how much gaming as a medium could do for storytelling and how well it can be utilised to elevate the story - it's a game I don't think could ever be successfully adapted into TV or film because so much of the story and themes and character arc are totally intertwined with you as a player discovering this story and its mysteries and twists by yourself. I won't give anything away because it's so much better to go into it knowing as little as possible (like I did) but it's just. It's one of my favourite stories from ANY medium. And Aloy is my absolute beloved

Okay so here's the thing. I've heard great things about Elden Ring and I love George R.R. Martin, but I fear that when I start on that game, I'll get addicted and will waste my time not reading haha. The series I am watching right now are also Star Trek Discovery and Picard(I know shocker with my pfp) and Legends of Tomorrow. I would recommend some series; Peacemaker(will need to watch The Suicide Squad first) and Chucky, the continuation of the 7 film series. The latter one also features a male/male romance between two 14 year old boys, not something I have seen a lot of. As for reading, I am currently in the middle of the comic series Buffy The Last Vampire Slayer.

5:24 I'm currently reading "master and margarita" by mikhail bulgacov (it's in my school program) and I'm actually enjoying it which is unusual because russian classics are very boring🙂 currently, I'm not watching anything in particular because I recently finished "the good place" and watched two movies. but in just two days it will be the release of the second half of the 2 season of the owl house and the second half of the 3 season of amphibia which I'm looking forward to! and yes, I'm VERY excited for heartstopper tv show to premiere!!!!

i'm soooo happy to see you playing elden ring. it's actually a lot more difficult than dark souls LOL at least the third game. it like combines sekiro combat with the soulsborne world. for games, i recommend dying light 1 or 2 (parkour zombies; DON'T play the DLC just watch it lol) and the dishonored series (steampunk stealth/first person). both are RPG and very story heavy (i say this as a fan of dragon age, mass effect, etc myself). hope you enjoy!

reading: muse of nightmares by laini taylor watching: the amount of shows i have to finish.... let's not discuss it playing: recently got back into animal crossing: new horizons and it is THE vibe in terms of video game recs, it is in my nature to recommend you my favourite game (like i do to Everyone On Earth): pyre! it's by the same people who made hades (which, btw, you would probably love if you haven't played already due to its ties to greek mythology)! pyre is gameplay-wise part visual novel, part... fantasy sports game? hear me out. you play as someone exiled to the downside (a kind of purgatory in this world) because you know how to read, which is banned. you're picked up by a traveling cart of people who need a reader to participate in rites (the fantasy sport) which make you able to return back home, one by one. it's probably the most incredible worldbuilding i've ever witnessed, and features these things: astrology; rebellion; found family; the importance of mythology and storytelling; heartbreak; hope; lost languages; a knight that is also a worm; probably the best soundtrack in a video game. it's so strange and wonderful and based on the kinds of things you talk about enjoying i'd say you'd like it!

Have you played the Mass Effect trilogy? It’s the most amazing story and characters. Highly, highly recommend!

I'm currently reading a lot of books lol. Daughter of the Moon Goddess the Man who Mistook his Wife for a Hat Lovelesw (reread) We are Okay Picture of Dorian Gray The Little Prince (reread) And I'm currently rewatching Never Have I Ever

I'm currently reading She who became the sun and......im not loving it so far. I'm not a fan of the writing and it so far seems a bit like the poppy wars only not nearly as well done 😔. Actually, makes me want to just read the poppy wars again 😀

Currently reading Piranesi and Straight on Till Morning, enjoying both of these books. Currently watching Masked Singer and Rupaul's Drag Race. My top three that I want to win is Lady Camden, Willow Pill, and Angeria. Currently playing nothing at the moment, but next month have plans to replay The Last of Us for a third time. Suggestions of games to play are the entire Uncharted series this includes Uncharted Lost Legacy, The Last of Us and Last of Us 2, Greedfall is interesting, all of the God of War games including the one set to come out this year, Fenyx Rising is awesome, Telltale's Walking Dead series including the Michonne game, and I think it's called Until Dawn that was scary, but they kind of mixed up a little bit of the legend of certain things which was the only minute disappointment.

playing: recently finished horizon forbidden west the sequel to horizon forbidden dawn, both amazing games! i bet you would love them. hades has phenomenal writing and you get to meet (and maybe reunite 👀) patroculus and achilles in the underworld!! if you’ve not played it yet you simply must. also queer main character! alice oseman has said they’re interested in writing a narrative video game would love y’all to collab on that! 👀 dream team! ✨ watching: station eleven on hbo max based on the book, which is beautiful and poignant reading: just finished a conspiracy of truths by alexandra rowland and it was such a hoot, adult fantasy with unreliable and hilarious main character plus queer side character thankful for the beginning of spring time 🌸 this winter took me out 😮‍💨 have a good one joel!!
