hey besties, today i'm talking about some of the fantasy and science-fiction series that i'd like to read in 2022 as in 2021, i really fell away from adult fantasy in my reading habits, and i'd like to get back into it! let me know which one you're most looking forward to seeing me read in the comments, and any speculative reads you're planning on picking up this year too!

I'm reading Mistborn the Final Empire now and I'm only at the beginning, but I love it. I have got to say Brandon Sanderson is my new favorite author. I would highly recommend it.

I'm on book 6 now and honestly wasnt expecting to enjoy the series so much 😭 surprising in the best way Ooo as tempted as I am to say do one long video, the books are long and theres a lot of them! So maybe splitting it into a couple videos would be better THE FIFTH SEASON EXACTLY

I have a lot of fantasy series I need to read: the Green Bone saga by Fonda Lee, the Poppy War trilogy by R. F. Kuang, The Gilded Wolves trilogy by Roshani Chokshi, and many more. 2022 will be a heavy fantasy reading year for me.

Happy new year!!!! Interview with the Vampire was the first book I read in English... and it took me a year to do it (I was always one to go full "Leroy Jenkins" at everything in life!). I was still an intermediate student then and the writing style isn't really my thing (too descriptive for me) so it was slow going. But I still have a soft spot in my heart for this book!

So many good series in here!!! The King of Scars duology is fun, but fair warning the titular character is around much less than you'd expect, so know that going in. And there are only 6 books before you get to the new mistborn book (the original trilogy and then the first 3 books in the 2nd era mistborn series) lol. And Skyward is so fun, I just read it in Nov/Dec and binged the whole series and talked about it in my wrap up videos. Wheel of Time books are very up and down, good luck xD I just got to book 11 of 14 Just found your channel and will be coming back to watch more fantasy videos! :)

I'm currently reading The Witcher and also plan to tackle Narnia this year. Really excited to see your videos on The Wheel of Time, because I enjiyed the Amazon series and want to read the books at some point too.

I am sooo happy you will read Anne Rice this year. I read the Mayfair Series when I was 12 and those three books are still among my all-time favorites 20 years later. I only read the first few books of the vampire chronicles because my library was missing book 5 or 6. The first few books were definitely really awesome too. Sooo now I am thinking about finally reading all of the books again 🤣 Thanks for the video!

Can't wait for your opinion on Jade War because it's one of my favorite series ever. Book one is *really* good but book two, omg. it's a huge step-up and just plain amazing. Love the writing, the vibes and the character development!!!!! Hilo is my favorite character, even though I would want to punch his face in real life lol. Not only is he my favorite character from this series, but one of my favorite fictional characters period. Haven't read book three yet as i am waiting for the perfect moment to completly immerse myself in it but i cant wait 💖⚡

I feel you so much on starting series and not finishing them. XD I made it my goal to finish a couple of them in 2022 too. I'm currently finishing the "King of Scars" duology btw and it's good so far. =) "Jade City" is on my TBR 2022! I got so curious by all the BookTubers raving about it. I just finished gideon the ninth I FLEW through it omg, and I didnt think i'd even like the mistborn series but before I even finished the final empire i already bought almost all of sandersons other books lol I cant wait to hear your thoughts on the farseer series!! hands down one of my favorite series of all time, I read them years ago and wanna reread them this year to refresh my memory and start the next robin hobb series

I am intrigued by the oracle pig. The sci- fi series I am most excited to read/ continue is of course Star Wars' The High Republic. I will not stop recommending and mentioning this series, its so good. It's essentially apart of my brand now.

I will warn you if you start Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere series you won't be able to stop.. at least that was the case for me xD I think I read 12 books from him last year and even though the series are great, the stand alone book Warbreaker is my absolute favorite so far next to The Way of Kings!

I'm going to start Ember in the Ashes, The Lunar Chronicles, The Dark Artifices, The Eldest Curses, The Daevabad Trilogy (watched your vlog of this and now I have to read it), The Voyage of Shannara, the Nine Kingdoms, The Great Library, Ink, Iron and Glass Duology, The illuminate Files, and Keeper of Lost Cities (Lexi's channel recommend). I'm going to finish the following The Iron Fey, ADSOM, TOG, Dark Duet, Tunnel of Bones, The Blackthorne Key, The Land of Stories, Heartstopper, and the Flavia de Luce series (yes these last 4 are all middle grade but they make for fun reading when I need something light). We can do this!!! Keep recommending so my TBR continues to grow and overflow.

I'm re reading blood and gold by Anne rice right now! (Which is my favorite of the series). Some of the language is a bit over the top, but it is a wonderful series. You can't help, but fall into the stories.

Wheel of Time is technically not medieval, but it definitely has these vibes (at times) and still is classic Fantasy. There are a lot of books there that I am also dying to read, like the Greenbone Saga or the Locked Thomb Series. I can't wait what to hear your thoughts about Mistborn (and hopefully Stormlight in the future). These are my favourite books and Brandon Sanderson is definitely my favourite author!

I think you're going to like this new duology that's coming out somewhere this year. It's called The Sunbearer Trials, it's described as a mixture of Percy Jackson and The Hunger Games but with Aztec mythology. Check it out!

Redemptor!!!! I finished it pretty recently, and imo it was even better than Raybearer (which I had minor critiques of -- all of which imrpoved in Redemptor). The new characters stole my heart, god. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did! Its themes were right up my alley, but it can be rough to read sometimes.

I too need to finish the Ember series, and read the King of Scars duology. Can't wait for you to read Mistborn. I promised myself I'd start Stormlight when Sanderson starts writing book five which is any day now 😅 Omg I wanna read WoT too cos of the show. When a series takes 4 books to get any good, then It's a hard pass from me (Wheel of time, im looking at you). And from what I've heard, book 4-7 is really good, and 8 to the last book gets shit again. No I wont even touch It. Reading about cardboard cut outs and every female acts the same.. sorry. not for me. and nothing can convince me otherwise. The broken earth and Robin Hobb is on my tbr aswell. And your last pick was The shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne. He's become on of my favorite authors of all time. I can't wait to read It. Plus the hunger of the Gods comes out in April i think. He wrote 'The faithful and the fallen' series (Malice, Valor, ruin and wrath), and I was my favorite read in 2020. From someone that hateread The Gilded Wolves in a "normal" pace: Don't. It's not worth it. I really need to get to Raybearer! 😭 And Gideon... I'm more intressting in The Killing moon than The Fifth Season, haven't read anything by her though. The Murderbot Diaries are great! The books are definitely fast, the novel is a little bit slower. Murderbot is basically just how sarcastic and ironic as I wish I could be. And I love that I can relate to the aromantic part perfectly. Yes, The Shadow of Gods! So excited for it (haven't read it though... 😅) Fantasy on my TBR... All of them...? 😉 Good luck!

Do not read The final empire, is disappointing. Gideon the ninth and Harrow the ninth were two of my favourite books of 2021. I adored the characters (I even made a review whilst cosplaying Gideon hahah 💀👀)
